1 Timothy 5:21

21 I charge [diamarturomai] thee before [enopion] God, [theos] and [kai] the Lord [kurios] Jesus [Iesous] Christ, [Christos] and [kai] the elect [eklektos] angels, [aggelos] that [hina] thou observe [phulasso] these things [tauta] without [choris] preferring one before another, [prokrima] doing [poieo] nothing [medeis] by [kata] partiality. [prosklisis] KJV-Interlinear

21 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus and of His chosen angels, to maintain these principles without bias, doing nothing in a spirit of partiality. NASB

Often times the highest authority in the church, is difficult to bring charges against, especially if you do not have strong facts. And the politics in typical fashion are difficult to get around, if there are those who will defend the elder, even if they have conducted themselves in a sinful or criminal manner.

Nevertheless, Paul charges Timothy, and each one of us, in bringing our obedience to truth, and not to blind loyalties for people (no matter who they are).

The principles of truth (Bible doctrine), include honor, honesty, fidelity, integrity and so forth. When these are traded away for any reason, then the office and the faith become discounted and those who see the hypocrisy, will turn away from the principles of doctrine.

Far too often, Christianity is judged based on the activities of people. That is what most immature believers or unbelievers have to go on.They are not familiar with the principles of doctrine, and therefore cannot evaluate Christianity based on Gods teachings. They have only the lifestyles and habits of people (you and your conduct) to learn from.

And when Christianity is filled with people of dishonesty and infidelity, or just plain hypocrisy, then what does that say about Christianity to others?

Certainly all people are held accountable for their decisions regarding truth, but too, those who proactively drive people away from truth because of poor examples that they set, have a great deal to face Christ with, when their (your) judgment day comes.

And who knows of your actions or inactions? All of heaven and earth God, Christ, and even the angels.

You are being observed constantly. You can make a fool of yourself, or you can live up to Gods standards in all things. The universe can view you with repugnance, or it can hold you in high regard.Which would you prefer?

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
