You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

2 Timothy 2:2

2 And [kai] the things [hos] that thou hast heard [akouo] of [para] me [emou] among [dia] many [polus] witnesses, [martus] the same [tauta] commit thou [paratithemi] to faithful [pistos] men, [anthropos] who [hostis] shall be [esomai] able [hikanos] to teach [didasko] others [heteros] also. [kai]  KJV-Interlinear

2 And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also. NASB

Paul uses here, an expression describing the on going process of teaching and instruction.

Here Paul uses four levels or depths - me (Paul), many witnesses, Timothy (being taught), others.

Paul has taught many people who in turn teach others. Timothy has learned from Paul, and will in turn teach others, who will in turn teach others, and so on. The process of instruction continues from person to person, from generation to generation.

The content of the scriptures remains the same, thus the original text being taught remains the same, thus the instruction remains the same.

What Paul and Timothy understood, is exactly what you are learning today. They did not have a different doctrine than you. Gods Word remains the same throughout the ages.

We certainly have different methods and tools for teaching and for learning and so forth, but the fundamental principles of doctrine remain the same.

Namely, salvation is by faith. That has not changed since Adam.

Fellowship is through confession. That has remained the same since Adam.

The function of the spiritual life is from the position of fellowship and through the power of the Spirit. That has not changed since Adam.

The only things that have changed, are the various characteristics unique to each dispensation, and the technology that has been invented (or discovered) throughout the ages.

But every generation has had sufficient doctrine to advance them to maturity. No one has been denied anything in the spiritual sense.

Now the important principle here is what?

Instruction.

Everyone, Adam and Eve included, have learned by means of instruction. Jesus walked in the Garden with them everyday, and taught.

Their children learned from instruction. Abel learned through the sacrifices and Cain failed to learn the correct principles.

So too, your spiritual life comes only from learning. And your learning comes only through instruction.

No one can learn doctrine on their own. No one can learn doctrine through emotional activities.

No one can learn, by ignoring instruction. We all need teachers.

Your only means of advancing in the spiritual life is by means of learning, by means of instruction, by means of a daily study, and finally by means of applying what you learn into a daily practice in your daily life. And, all of this must function while you reside in fellowship.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
