Hebrews 1:5-6

Lesson # Heb. 1:5-6
Study Material - Heb. 1:5-6

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 1:5-6

5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, 'Thou art My Son, Today I have begotten Thee'? And again, 'I will be a Father to Him And He shall be a Son to Me'? 6 And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, 'And let all the angels of God worship Him.'

Several passages are quoted. Psa. 2:7, 'Thou art My Son, Today I have begotten Thee', and 2 Sam. 7:14, 'I will be a Father to Him And He shall be a Son to Me', and Psa. 97:7, 'And let all the angels of God worship Him.'

The superiority of Christ is clear. The superiority of His name and position is clear. The Son is a reference to the second person of the trinity certainly, but more than that, there is a clear reference to His role in the human race as the one who became lower than angels. The one placed in a position of humiliation, and poverty with respect to anything that angels have known throughout their existence.

Angels are vastly superior to mankind, yet God the Son became a man and lived as a man so as to demonstrate His vastly superior wisdom over and above that of the opinion of angels.

God never offered them a promotion into His very own family. Though they may at one time have been qualified for that, and certainly they had the where with all to live within the universe and to come and go as they pleased. But God did offer to mankind a position of family membership within Hid very own family despite mans obvious limitations when compared to angels.

Jesus Christ has a greater title than angels.

Son of God, places Him in deity as a direct member of the trinity, as a member of the Godhead.

Son of man, places Him in the middle of a lower and humiliating creature. A position lower than that of angels. A position that is helpless with respect to general function within the universe. The universe is vast and far superior to anything that man could ever hope to control. A simply meteor could come crashing into the planet and wipe man out and there is little if anything that man could do to stop it. Let alone to detect it very far in advance of its strike. There wouldn't be a hole or crack safe enough to hide in or even to survive. So man is the lessor of the intelligent creatures in this universe. Yet Christ elected Himself to become a man and to settle the greatest conflict in history by means of a humbling status as a man.

Son of David, places the authority over mankind into His hands, as the greatest of all humans. He is the legitimate heir of a king and therefore the crown prince of the throne. With eternal life, He will rule forever and His reign will continue uninterrupted forever.

Of His families. The Godhead is His family of deity. The Father and the Holy Spirit are His immediate family members in heaven. Family of David represents His royal family as the son and descendent of David. His own family following the Cross, is the Royal Family, the Church, the Bride of Christ, and that is where we fit into this equation. We are His bride, His royal bride. We will be joined to Him after the rapture.

Heir to all that is. Christ is the only person to whom all things and all power and all dominion are given. There is no other. No idol, no other angel, no other person, no other animal of any type. None. Christ is the sole rules and authority in all of creation. To all of the angels, the command is 'Worship Him'. To mankind the command is 'Worship Him'. To all of creation the command is ' Subject yourself to His power and rule and authority.

If Christ be our destiny and ultimate ruler, then is it not practical to learn about Him? Of course. Therefore, Bible study is the order of the day. But alas, how many give notice to God, or Christ, or religion in general? Few, unfortunately. And that is their loss. But you, as a student of this daily study, or any other appropriate Bible study you choose, you then, are not to be counted among those who will lose out in eternity. We all know that in live we hustle for an education, we hustle for a paycheck. We accumulate things and live our lives, but in the end, we all face the end of our lives and death. Can't change that. Can't control that. So what comes after death?

After birth, the issue in life is, 'What think ye of Christ?', and salvation is the decision to make.

After salvation, the issue in life is, ' What think ye of doctrine?', and spiritual maturity is the decision to make and strive for.

After death, the issues are concluded. The books with respect to your life are closed. So where will you stand when that day comes. Or are you even interested? You really do control your own destiny, but not through your actions or hustle in life, but through your decisions with respect to Gods Word.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
