Hebrews 1:9

Lesson # Heb. 1:9
Study Material - Heb. 1:9

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 1:9

9 'Thou hast loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; Therefore God, Thy God, hath anointed Thee With the oil of gladness above Thy companions.'

Thou, is a reference to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Loved is a reference to His attitude and certainly His policy. Companions is a reference to any who might look to themselves as co-partners in office - the office of God, of King, of Prophet, of Priest.

Throughout the ages there have been leaders of nations. These leaders have had their opportunity to lead their peoples in truth and justice, but history has demonstrated that this is not possible among humans, and certainly not angels, with whom we have been comparing Christ to in these last few verses.

In the angelic realm, arrogance got in the way. Lust and the desire to unseat God blinded Lucifer to the truth of His folly. Satan's desires were for his own selfish purposes.

Mankind also has his failures in leadership. Many a leader has thought of himself as a god. Many have thought of themselves as Kings of divine appointment (which is a correct assumption, but with the wrong reason). Thinking of themselves as confirmed and approved by God for their own selfish desires.

Many a person has looked on themselves as the prophets of the people, foretelling what is best for the nation. Seeking to be looked upon as the desired counselor. Many a person has looked upon themselves as the high priest, the direct advisor and contact person to god, any god that will give them the power they lust for and control over the people in their respective nation.

So the ultimate result of mans as well as angelic leadership has been disastrous. Only for the grace of God and His divine interference when appropriate, has the human race been able to survive. Beginning with Cain, and continuing through our current day, we have not been able to rid ourselves of lustful and selfish leadership in any nation. In the rest of the world, Africa is filed with trouble. Asia as well. Even in our United States it is politics as usual, one group struggling against another. There is no panacea, certainly no in this country, and for sure not in any place else in the world.

Jesus Christ is the only person whom God the Father recognizes. The only person who has the right to be called Son of God, and as God has all the characteristics of God, all of the essence of God. And as true humanity, He is the only person recognized by God as being qualified to make payment for mankind which is required to reconcile man to God, by means of the Cross.

Consequently Jesus Christ is the sole recipient of true anointing to office, to the office of King, to the office of prophet, to the office of high priest. Christ is the only qualified person and the only person in history to receive posts to all of these offices and for a term of eternity.

This world is filled with leader wanna be's. Some want to be leaders of nations, while others want to be leaders of small social clubs. Some want to be leaders of everything in between. Only one is qualified for all positions of leadership and that is Jesus Christ. No other person is qualified nor entitled to any position of leadership unless they follow the principles which God lays out in the scriptures. Unfortunately too many might try to use the scriptures to twist their own interpretations into an political agenda. Thus all have failed - no exceptions. All religions in this world are out of line. They seek to distort God and His Word while superimposing something else as their spiritual truth. Sometimes it has to do with orienting with ones environment or perhaps the universe. Sometimes it has to do with climbing several ladders of ascension to higher levels of enlightenment, though enlightenment is usually ambiguous never really getting defined. Some concepts ignore God altogether and look to the dignity of man as the basis for defining our destiny, and perhaps looking to technology as the mechanism for attaining that destiny.

Whatever the agenda, whatever the philosophy. All are false with respect to their future in history. All will fail and fade sooner or later. As we will see, as garments wear out, so too will the various philosophies evaporate from history.

In this first chapter of Hebrews, Jesus Christ is portrayed as the only solution to mans problems. Jesus Christ is superior to anything and anyone else in existence. And since Jesus Christ is the living word, we have the written word, which is the mind of Christ, so we have the answer to every predicament, to every choice we will have in life, in Gods Word.

What better answer or solution do any of us have if not Christ? If another solution exists, then what is its basis in fact? The answer is of course, there is no other option.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
