Hebrews 1:10-12

Lesson # Heb. 1:10-12
Study Material - Heb. 1:10-12

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 1:10-12

10 And, 'Thou, Lord, in the beginning didst lay the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the works of Thy hands; 11 They will perish, but Thou remainest; And they all will become old as a garment, 12 And as a mantle Thou wilt roll them up; As a garment they will also be changed. But Thou art the same, And Thy years will not come to an end. '

One final thought from the previous verse. 'Metochous', is the Greek word used for fellows, companions, fellows, partners with similar function. It is a reference to those persons of similar appointment to office. All kings, priests, counselors and such who are men placed in positions of authority but have not been able to fulfill their obligations either in their life time or for certain into eternity. Christ and Christ alone has that qualification and right and authority.

Since the beginning of time and before time even began, Christ lived. He has always existed and no one can make that claim. Certainly not man who was created on the sixth day of the restoration of planet earth. Man did not come out of millions of years of evolving mush. Man did not preexist angels in any form. Angels did not preexist themselves but did preexist the creation of the universe, and can bear witness to its creation. A creation that did not come from the big bang as is the popular belief, a bang for which there is no pattern of typical explosions in the makeup of the universe. Nor is there sufficient mass (according to some) which would be necessary for the bang to occur and generate enough power to expand the universe to its present distances. Nor is there an identifiable center from which an explosion should have come, or even return to if the universe was to finally end its expansion and then collapse onto itself. In fact the furthermost galaxies that man can see are moving away from us at increasing speeds, not slowing down, and moving in different directions.

God, Jesus Christ, crested the universe in an instant and from nothing. We have gone over the appropriate words in Genesis. Out of nothing He created the universe and He created it perfect. All angels were witness and there was perfect harmony within the angelic realm when the creation of the universe occurred. Details of this are found in Job 38.

And again repeated in Psa. 102:25 and following, Christ created the universe and laid the foundations of the earth. The earth was reconstructed out of the chaos which Satan caused. But look around, all things wear out. What do you have that has lasted all your life? Probably nothing. Your clothes wear out, your home is in need of maintenance occasionally. Your car always needs looking after. So it is with the universe. It has a limited time, then it will be discarded as old rags. Christ, Himself, will roll it up and toss it out, then He will create a new universe.

The universe, certainly this earth is changing and wearing out. Christ, on the other hand is immutable. He will always be the same, yesterday, today and forever. Therein is our security, our eternal security.

Here on earth and in this life, the rain falls and things rust or rot. Even the laws change with the seasons of change in politics. One government rules in a certain way, then another one comes along and with its changing morals and views of life, the rules change to match the leadership or their popular support. If prejudice is the order of the day, then that becomes the law.

There is no security in man. Mans laws change with the seasons as well, but Christ is the same and will never change. The Word of God is the same and treats all without prejudice, treats all with equal opportunity for salvation, for spiritual maturity. Even in this world any and all of the various religious beliefs, or philosophies, are subject to their ever changing rituals and regulations. Sometimes they are for convenience, sometimes for political expediency. Whatever the basis of mans rules or beliefs, they are all inferior to Gods Word, inferior to Jesus Christ, inferior to the spiritual life that God offers.

All things will come to an end. Does man have an unlimited future on earth and at the discretion of his personal desired destiny? No. Man has limitations. We cannot have unlimited lives, never will obtain them, no matter what advances are made in science. Man will never rise up to rule and travel the stars, no matter how fast our rockets of the future get.

These were the goals of Satan, and he is far superior to man, yet Satan is infinitely inferior to Christ, so the conclusion is or should be obvious, and that is the conclusion of this first chapter of the book of Hebrews. Christ is superior. Christ's word is superior. Christ's pattern of life is superior. And these are all available to each one of us. Free for the taking.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
