Heb. 2:14-15

14 Forasmuch [epei] then [oun] as the children [paidion] are partakers [koinoneo] of flesh [sarx] and [kai] blood [haima], he [metecho] also [kai] himself [autos] likewise [paraplesios] took part [metecho] of the same [autos]; that [hina] through [dia] death [thanatos] he might destroy [katargeo] him that had [echo] the power [kratos] of death [thanatos], that is [toutesti], the devil [diabolos];
15 And [kai] deliver [apallasso] them [toutous] who [hosos] through [dia] fear [phobos] of death [thanatos] were [en] all [pas] their lifetime [zao] subject [enochos] to bondage [douleia]. KJV-Interlinear

14 Since then the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15 and might deliver those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives. NASB

What is man? Well, we have seen Gods address o Ezekiel as 'son of man' which is a reference to his 'dust' nature. Man in his case was 'adam.' Adam means worthless red dust. Adam was not made of the valuable good dust of the Garden but was made of the worthless dust outside of the Garden and then he was brought into the Garden. Eve was made from Adam.

So dust we are. Or, as Hebrews puts it, 'flesh and blood.' Man is nothing really. What is flesh and blood? It is temporary, and when the soul leaves the body, the life support which the body requires is gone. The human biological cannot live unless it has some source of power. This is not the case for animals.

Man is biological in his physical body. Christ also, took on this nature, so that He could experience death and therefore relieve mankind from his burden of death.

Satan has the power of death. He achieves this power through sin. Sin is an imperfection which separates man from God. Satan's goal in life is to prevent man from having any relationship with God. This separation condemns man to the Lake of Fire forever. This is Satan's real power. Over this, man has no defense of his own.

Mans real and most formidable fear is of death. Most ignore it, desensitizing themselves as to its sting through movies which portray death as an adventure, as funny, as something that doesn't really hurt you. Life is looked at as nothing more than a cycle and at its end you become a star, or an eagle, or a spirit floating in the wind. There to help others or to do whatever spirits do after they move out of this life. All of these are of course lies. But indifferent man will cultivate the lies in order to soften his fear.

Death is a slavery tied to chains which cannot be broken. In life we have a body which allows us to maneuver through life. But after death (without God) we have no such mechanism for maneuvering about.

God is life, and in life God provides for all our needs. But in death, a death in which we have rejected God, there is no provision. So mankind in death without God, has no means of support, and man cannot control anything in his existence, not even himself.

Try controlling the explosions of the sun. Try controlling the course of the moon. Try controlling the weather. Try controlling the economy. Try controlling your family. Try controlling the number of hairs that grow on your head. Try controlling the beats of your heart. Try controlling anything in life. You cannot. And in death, you have even less control. Cigars, jokes, and bar chicks don't exist in the Lake of Fire.

Satan has a powerful weapon - death. But God has an even more powerful weapon - eternal life. When your weapons are more powerful than your enemy's weapons, then you will always triumph if you use them against your enemy.

God became man, flesh and blood. God is Jesus Christ. He became man in order to experience death. He went into death, through death, and came back out of it in resurrection. God has greater power than Satan. God has greater power than death.

2 Peter 1:4
4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, in order that by them you might become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. NASB

John 14:19
19 'After a little while the world will behold Me no more; but you will behold Me; because I live, you shall live also. NASB

1 Cor. 15:55
55 'O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?' NASB

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
