You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 4:11

11 Let us labour [spoudazo] therefore [oun] to enter [eiserchomai] into [eis] that [ekeinos] rest [katapausis], lest [hina me] any man [tis] fall [pipto] after [en] the same [autos] example [hupodeigma] of unbelief [apeitheia]. KJV-Interlinear

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall through following the same example of disobedience. NASB

Labor, 'spoudazo,' refers to laboring toward a goal, to endeavor, to be diligent, to study. This is compatible with 2 Tim 2:15, which I place at the end of every daily study lesson. You might have noticed it at the bottom of the page perhaps ???

2 Tim. 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Note again that this is not a salvation passage. There is no studying involved in the procurement of salvation. All one has to do is believe in Christ and then be saved. Being saved is only the beginning of the spiritual life. When saved you are born again. You are a spiritual baby. And babies have to grow up. The growing up process comes from our consistent daily study of the Word of God.

The objective of growing up, is spiritual maturity. Once you become mature, then you keep on studying in order to maintain your spiritual status, and you in effect continue to grow even more in Gods wisdom.

Once born of woman we are body and soul. What we need in our life is a relationship with God and salvation accomplishes that. But we are not complete. Our soul needs to grow up. Doctrine in the soul gives as another component of completion in our life.

Next comes the Rapture (for us in the Church Age), and there we will receive our resurrection bodies. Yet another step in our completion process. And finally we stand before Christ to receive our eternal reward.

Those rewards, privileges, promotions, honors, blessings, and more (beyond imagination), for all of eternity come at the time of our evaluation before Christ. That is the ultimate completion of our self. The mature believer receives the maximum in rewards. The immature believer, the one who did not see the point of growing up spiritually, will receive the least of the rewards, if any. We have previously studied this principle in our study of the Parables of Christ.

Therefore, there is a huge destiny at stake. You have the opportunity right now in this life to define and arrange for your entire eternal future. Something that you had no say in when you were born from your momma.

Failing to do so is your fault entirely. Failing to do so is due to your not seeing nor considering that the spiritual life as defined by the Bible, as having any importance. Failing to do so means that you think that other things in this life (things that are all temporary by the way), are more important than your daily Bible study. So television, magazines, hobbies, work, social activities, sleep, goofing off, whatever it is that controls your attention, is more important to you than your investment in a few minutes a day in Bible study.

Failing to do so means that you see the pennies that you invest in, in your daily activities, are worth more to you, than the trillions upon trillions of dollars you could have in eternity.

Don't they call that penny wise and pound foolish?

Failing to do so, failing to advance in your spiritual life, means that you are dumber than a rock.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
