Heb. 6:19-20

19 Which [hos] hope we have [echo] as [hos] an anchor [agkura] of the soul [psuche], both [te] sure [asphales] and [kai] stedfast [bebaios], and [kai] which entereth [eiserchomai] into [eis] that within [esoteros] the veil [katapetasma];
20 Whither [hopou] the forerunner [prodromos] is [eiserchomai] for [huper] us [hemon] entered [eiserchomai], even Jesus [Iesous], made [ginomai] an high priest [archiereus] for [eis] ever [aion] after [kata] the order [taxis] of Melchisedec [Melchisedek]. KJV-Interlinear

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20 where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. NASB

God has given us the security of His own essence, His own purpose, His own plan, and on top of all of that, He has made us promises secured by His very own pledge. All of this and even more, are given to those who have believed in Christ. Much more is given and made available to all those who advance to spiritual maturity.

And on top of all of this, God had given us His own personal appointed High Priest.

Every year at the Feast of Atonement, the Levitical High Priest entered into the Holy of Holies to make an offering in His own behalf first, and then second, to make an offering in behalf of all peoples.

Jesus, by going to the Cross, has effectively entered within the veil signifying His entering the Holy of Holies. Historically, Jesus Christ becomes the reality at the Cross, Jesus Christ entered into the Holy of Holies (by means of His sacrifice on he Cross), and He has remained there and will remain there forever.

The Levitical priest went into the inner room (the Holy of Holies) but had to leave it. He could not enter into it again until the following year. Christ entered into that room (which is behind the veil) and He was seated on the mercy seat (seated at the right hand of the Father), and there He remains and will remain forever as guardian over our lives.

In the Tabernacle there were two rooms. An outer room and an inner room. They were separated by a huge and heavy veil. The priest could enter into the inner room only once per year, in order to make the sacrifice of atonement.

By faith we who have believed in Christ, have entered into that room, into the presence of the Father, and there we too (figuratively speaking) will remain in the presence of the Father forever in heaven.

This is the best possible destiny that anyone can possibly have. To be with God forever. Certainly better than being apart from God (Lake of Fire) forever.

The Christians security is eternal. It can never be lost, never be changed, and never has to be re-secured. Christ's work on the Cross was perfect and complete. Nothing was overlooked, nothing was left undone. God cannot make mistakes. God cannot forget anything nor anyone.

Jesus Christ is our very own means of access to God. He is the only means of access to God. He is our High Priest, the only legitimate High Priest in all of history. Furthermore, He fulfills His role after the pattern of Melchizedek. Which is to say, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Savior, the Son of God does not follow the pattern of the Levitical Priesthood, does not follow the pattern of the prophets, does not follow the pattern of any invented religion of secular philosophy.

He follows the pattern of Melchizedek, which by the way is the single subject of the next entire chapter, chapter seven.

Abraham knew this as he became the example of this principle. Moses knew this as he disclosed this in the book of Genesis, which he wrote. David knew this as he disclosed it in the Psalms. The Levitical priesthood should have known it. The Pharisees and such folks of Jesus day should have known it as they were the supposed experts on the scriptures. And now you should have at least an elementary knowledge of this principle.

Jesus Christ does not follow any pattern of position or authority which has been invented by man, but follows the pattern of truth appointed by God the Father, and is supported by His very own essence. This then is our greatest possible hope and confidence in our own personal future.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
