Heb. 7:13-14

13 For [gar] he of [epi] whom [hos] these things [tauta] are spoken [lego] pertaineth [metecho] to another [heteros] tribe [phule], of [apo] which [hos] no man [oudeis] gave attendance [prosecho] at the altar [thusiasterion].
14 For [gar] it is evident [prodelos] that [hoti] our [hemon] Lord [kurios] sprang [anatello] out of [ek] Juda [Ioudas]; of [eis] which [hos] tribe [phule] Moses [Moseus] spake [laleo] nothing [oudeis] concerning [peri] priesthood [hierosune]. KJV-Interlinear

13 For the one concerning whom these things are spoken belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar. 14 For it is evident that our Lord was descended from Judah, a tribe with reference to which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests. NASB

Furthermore, the Messiah is well known to be a descendant of David a descendant of Judah. David's father was Jesse. The ancestry of Jesus is well documented in Matthew.

Isa 11:1
1 Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, NASB

Likewise Zechariah documents that the Messiah well control both the Temple as well as the Throne.

Zech. 6:13
13 'Yes, it is He who will build the temple of the LORD, and He who will bear the honor and sit and rule on His throne. Thus, He will be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace will be between the two offices.'' NASB

From within the text of the Old Testament, the Messiah is said to be the complete ruler, He is said to come out of another tribe, which is from Judah and not from Levi.

Therefore if He is to come from another tribe, Judah, and of that tribe there is never any mention of Levitical activity, then His priesthood must be of a different kind.

Indeed the Messiah came as predicted by Daniel. And out of the house of David. He went to the Cross and fulfilled the mandates of the Levitical offerings, paying the full price for sin and death as the Levitical sacrifices taught. Why else were there sacrifices by the Levites?

Jesus Christ is the only person throughout history who could have fulfilled these prophecies, and once fulfilled, the Levitical priesthood was terminated. As Jesus himself predicted, within one generation, that priesthood would vanish. And it did in 70 A.D.

All of the attempts of Judaism to re-establish the Levitical priesthood over these many centuries, have failed. It has not existed since 70 A.D., some 1,935 years ago. Even when the Israelites had been overrun, the offerings of the Levites still continued even in the foreign lands of Babylon and such. But since the Romans wiped out the Temple in 70 A.D., the practice of offerings has ceased.

The Messiah came from a different tribe - Judah instead of Levi. The Messiah was to rule both the Temple and the Throne. Once that rule was established, then the old order of Levi was no longer needed. It was replaced by the reality of the one who fulfilled all principles that the old priesthood taught, then that old teaching mechanism was no longer necessary.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
