You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 8:9-10

9 Not [ou] according to [kata] the covenant [diatheke] that [hos] I made with [poieo] their [autos] fathers [pater] in [en] the day [hemera] when I took [epilambanomai] them [autos] by the hand [mou] [cheir] to lead [exago] them [autos] out of [ek] the land [ge] of Egypt [Aiguptos]; because [hoti] they [autos] continued [emmeno] not [ou] in [en] my [mou] covenant [diatheke], and I [kago] regarded [ameleo] them [autos] not [ameleo], saith [lego] the Lord [kurios].
10 For [hoti] this [houtos] is the covenant [diatheke] that [hos] I will make [diatithemai] with the house [oikos] of Israel [Israel] after [meta] those [ekeinos] days [hemera], saith [lego] the Lord [kurios]; I will put [didomi] my [mou] laws [nomos] into [eis] their [autos] mind [dianoia], and [kai] write [epigrapho] them [autos] in [epi] their [autos] hearts [kardia]: and [kai] I will be [esomai] to [eis] them [autos] a God [theos], and [kai] they [autos] shall be [esomai] to [eis] me [moi] a people [laos]: KJV-Interlinear

9 Not like the covenant which I made with their fathers On the day when I took them by the hand To lead them out of the land of Egypt; For they did not continue in My covenant, And I did not care for them, says the Lord. 10 'For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their minds, And I will write them upon their hearts. And I will be their God, And they shall be My people. NASB

In the first covenant, the laws were written on stone tablets, written on scrolls, written in the functions of the Levitical sacrifices and offerings, written in the functions of the various feasts.

These all served as teaching aids and they were to be learned and transferred from the ritual to the heart or the soul of the believer.

However, far too many looked only to the ritual and figured that, that was all that was necessary for them to be obedient to God. They went through the routines demanded by the rituals, but learned nothing.

This can happen still in our current day. People can attend church or a Bible study, or even read the Bible on a daily basis, but if they never learn the mandates which God requires of us (like being in fellowship) then they will learn nothing and will be not much better off than any unbeliever. They will be saved of course (if they have believed in Christ), but they'll have no spiritual growth. Unbelievers have no spiritual life.

Believers with no spiritual growth do nothing more than imitate unbelievers in their daily life.

Ezek. 11:19-20
19 'And I shall give them one heart, and shall put a new spirit within them. And I shall take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, 20 that they may walk in My statutes and keep My ordinances, and do them. Then they will be My people, and I shall be their God. NASB

The Israelites had all of the advantages, but they lost their benefits because they were disobedient to God. Thy had the scriptures. They had the leadership. They just did not want to learn.

Too many folks in this life are close to doctrine. They have everything available to them. They have the scriptures to read. They have the teaching to learn from. They have everything given to them nearly on a silver platter. How many really desire to want to learn? Not many.

They will be greatly disappointed and embarrassed when they get to heaven and really have their eyes opened and see that they lost out on a huge opportunity. All of their own doing.

For them, life had too much more that they wanted. They were too busy. They wanted to blame someone for their limitations in life. They were not convinced that doctrine really worked. They judged God and doctrine by what they saw in other people. If doctrine did not turn into immediate gratification or advantage, then it must not be real. They focused their whole life on the temporary things of life.

So, for those folks who approach God with indifference, for those who are unconvinced with regard to Bible study, then God will give many opportunities and then He will turn away from their life. For a person who rejects God, will find that one day God will reject them. God 'will not care for them.'

The rejection comes first from the individual. God is very patient. Often times God will wait a person out their whole life. But sooner or later a reckoning comes. Then the lines have been crossed and you lose.

God dealt with the Israelites for centuries before the birth of Christ. There was even a four hundred year period of quiet between God and the negative minded Jewish people and Christ still came in His first advent.

God looked down through the tunnel of time and has seen yet another group of believers, the last Jewish generation in the Tribulation, and there He sees millions of people who will turn to Christ even while under the most ruthless set of circumstances in human history.

Once Christ had accomplished His work on the Cross, once the Levitical priesthood and all of its rituals had been eliminated, once the content of the Bible had been completed, then man had nothing to rely on except the written word of God.

With the Bible, the learning process was transferred from ritual teaching, to daily study. The objective of spiritual growth is to transform ones mind, rather than pursue overt rituals. The spiritual life is in the soul, not found in crossing ones heart, not in necklace's, not in kneeling and kissing someone's ring.

What you think is what you are, and what God evaluates. From what you think flows your daily thoughts and actions in your life. Your objective in life is to impress God with the content of your soul - His doctrine. It is not to impress people.

God is the God of people who write His words in their very own souls. That is a very important principle.

Yes God is the God of all who believe in Christ, but that is only salvation. Remember that salvation is infinitely better than going to the Lake of Fire. But the objective of the spiritual life is not to just be born (spiritually), no one want to be a infant forever, but the real advantages of the spiritual life come from advancing to spiritual maturity.

Spiritual maturity is infinitely better than spiritual infancy.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
