Heb. 9:12-14

12 Neither [oude] by [dia] the blood [haima] of goats [tragos] and [kai] calves [moschos], but [de] by [dia] his own [idios] blood [haima] he entered in [eiserchomai] once [ephapax] into [eis] the holy place [hagion], having obtained [heurisko] eternal [aionios] redemption [lutrosis] for us.
13 For [gar] if [ei] the blood [haima] of bulls [tauros] and [kai] of goats [tragos], and [kai] the ashes [spodos] of an heifer [damalis] sprinkling [rhantizo] the unclean [koinoo], sanctifieth [hagiazo] to [pros] the purifying [katharotes] of the flesh [sarx]:
14 How much [posos] more [mallon] shall [katharizo] the blood [haima] of Christ [Christos], who [hos] through [dia] the eternal [aionios] Spirit [pneuma] offered [prosphero] himself [heautou] without spot [amomos] to God [theos], purge [katharizo] your [humon] conscience [suneidesis] from [apo] dead [nekros] works [ergon] to [eis] serve [latreuo] the living [zao] God [theos]? KJV-Interlinear

12 and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. 13 For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, 14 how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? NASB

Christ is both the sacrificer and the sacrifice.

He did what no other person and what no other animal or thing could do, and that was die for the penalty of sin and then restore Himself back to life.

The blood of animals did not pay the price for sin and death. All of the other sacrifices, that cultures around the world took upon themselves to copy the sacrifices of the Bible, never paid any price for sin or death. None of them solved anything except the ego, power lust, and approbation (for the attention of people) of those offering them to their false gods.

The original purpose for sacrifices was to teach the need for salvation for man and the inability of man to secure it for himself. However, over the years and centuries that intent was distorted into all sorts of power and political agendas.

But for the time that the Levitical sacrifices were in force, those sacrifices served their purpose as a teaching aid to those who really wanted to learn Bible doctrine.

Even then, the sacrifice of Christ, who is God, was a far better one than anything that man could offer or even invent as an offering.

Christ's service is in His own work, not that of sacrificial animals. He made His sacrifice only once, and that once was sufficient for all people for all of human history. His work on the Cross, obtained permanent, eternal redemption. He cleansed past, present, and future sins all in one act on the Cross.

The Old Covenant, weak and imperfect as it was, served its purpose. But the better work of Christ's new covenant, powerful and perfect, served its purpose infinitely better. The new covenant not only had a better purpose, but it accomplished that purpose as the old covenant did not.

Jesus did everything He did on earth, in obedience to the Father through the Spirit. He did nothing for Himself. He had and has no separate agenda for His own rule. There is only one divine plan, not a plan for each different culture or religion.

The former priests cleaned up only symbolically, imperfectly, and temporarily.

Christ cleanses from the inside, in the soul, where the real problem is. He does more than cleanse, He replaces our soul with new life, with a new transformation of our very existence, 2 Cor. 5:17.

2 Cor. 5:17
17 Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. NASB

As the world continues to work for its salvation, those who hear and understand the gospel know that it is too late to work for ones salvation. That work has already been done. Christ did it nearly 2000 years ago. Now as always in history, all one needs to do is believe in that work, believe in Jesus Christ, and that is what is required to be saved. Just a simple thought, 'Father, I believe in Jesus Christ.'

And, just as Christ went to the Cross only once, so too you need believe in Christ just once. Once saved always saved. Once born always born. You cannot un-born yourself. You can never do anything to lose that which God has given to you - eternal life.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
