Heb. 9:23-24

23 It was therefore [oun] necessary [anagke] that the patterns [hupodeigma] of things [men] in [en] the heavens [ouranos] should be purified [katharizo] with these [toutois]; but [de] the heavenly things [epouranios] themselves [autos] with better [kreitton] sacrifices [thusia] than [para] these [tautais].
24 For [gar] Christ [Christos] is [eiserchomai] not [ou] entered [eiserchomai] into [eis] the holy places [hagion] made with hands [cheiropoietos], which are the figures [antitupos] of the true [alethinos]; but [alla] into [eis] heaven [ouranos] itself [autos], now [nun] to appear [emphanizo] in the presence [prosopon] of God [theos] for [huper] us [hemon]: KJV-Interlinear

23 Therefore it was necessary for the copies of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24 For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; NASB

The things of this world are only copies, shadows, sketches of the real things of heaven. A shadow of a tree shows only the outline of the tree not the detail, not the color, not the texture, not its true depth and breadth, and height. On this earth we have very little of the real Temple of God in heaven. We see only the shadow.

But here on the earth, all of the things that are spiritual had to be cleansed by the blood of sacrifices. Death had to occur in order for sin to be obliterated.

Without the payment of the debt of sin, there is no redemption back to a relationship with God.

Christ, on the other hand, did not make His sacrifice inside the temple here on the earth, a temple made with mans hands. Anything that man is involved with is eliminated from Gods divine plan. Man has no part in the procurement of salvation. So Christ did not do His work inside of a building which man built. People might then begin to think that their temple was more holy than it really is.

Jesus Christ instead, did His work on the Cross. Something that man has defined as despicable, and then He arose and ascended into the real Temple in heaven. A Temple not made with human hands. A Temple now designed by mans imagination. A temple which has no input whatsoever from mankind.

The Temple in heaven was imagined, designed ad constructed by God and no one else.

The earthly sacrifices were required in order to teach that sin had a price which had to be paid. Sin had a price which no normal human could possibly pay. And we should all know and understand that we need a substitute, a redeemer, in order to secure our rescue from eternal death and separation from God.

Life on this earth is not just from our birth, through school, through work, until we reach retirement and then we are off to heaven because we have been good and tried to live a good life, during our life.

Life is a division between good and evil, and unless we believe in Christ, then we are evil as unbelievers and will have a very bad eternal life in the Lake of Fire. If we are saved (having believed in Christ) then we need to grow up spiritually in order to receive those promised huge rewards for eternity.

Our life, the bulk of it, will come in eternity, not on this earth. Our evaluation comes from the content of Gods word in our soul. When God looks at each one of us, He does not see us, but He sees Christ in us.

God does not take us, 'just as we are.'

We are nothing without God. We are nothing without Christ. We are nothing without doctrine.

Now note something here. None of the above line includes credit for any of mans efforts in life.

Christ, doctrine, and God do not come from mans opinions or mans defined morals or standards.

God is satisfied with the work of Christ. He is satisfied with His work so much that He exalted Him above and beyond all that exists. God is not impressed with yours or my efforts in life.

Phil. 2:9-11
9 Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. NASB

It is Christ's work, and Christ' residence, and Christ's seat of power in heaven that is real and beneficial to us. Nothing on this earth has ever helped us regain our relationship with God, and nothing ever will. There is no church, no temple, no cute little crosses on necklaces, and certainly no alternate religion or philosophy which will come to our aid at the end of our life. And, by the way, there is no crusade to save the world, no movement to restore prayer in schools, nothing we can do to save man or save history.

Jesus Christ controls history. Don't worry about the little things that occur on a day to day basis. But keep your focus on the Word of God, learn it, and grow up spiritually. That is your mandate from God. That is your goal for a greater life. God will take care of all of the rest of history.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
