Heb. 10:15-17

15 Whereof [de] the Holy [hagios] Ghost [pneuma] also [kai] is a witness [martureo] to us [hemin]: for [gar] after [meta] that he had said before [proereo],
16 This [houtos] is the covenant [diatheke] that [hos] I will make [diatithemai] with [pros] them [autos] after [meta] those [ekeinos] days [hemera], saith [lego] the Lord [kurios], I will put [didomi] my [mou] laws [nomos] into [epi] their [autos] hearts [kardia], and [kai] in [epi] their [autos] minds [dianoia] will I write [epigrapho] them [autos];
17 And [kai] their [autos] sins [hamartia] and [kai] iniquities [anomia] [autos] will I remember [mnaomai] no [ou me] more [eti]. KJV-Interlinear

15 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, 16 'This is the covenant that I will make with them After those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart, And upon their mind I will write them,' He then says, 17 'And their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.' NASB

Hebrews again quotes from Jer. 31:33-34. We studied this passage in chapter 8, a couple of weeks ago.

Then, the subject was learning doctrine ad growing up in the spiritual life, and eventually when human history ends, then the only knowledge that man will know, will be the truth about life. Man will not be influenced with the deceptions of lies and false philosophies and false doctrines which have been invented in the past.

But now there is a slightly different twist to the quote from Jeremiah. These were not Jeremiah's words, even though he wrote them, but this quote is from God Himself. All of the scriptures come from God.

2 Tim. 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is God breathed and profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; 17 that the man of God may be mature, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Even though man wrote all of the scriptures, the words and thoughts, and principles being communicated are from God.

Now, we have a principle which is primarily directed at the Jewish people who reject Christ as the Messiah, even though the word 'Christ' and the word 'Messiah' are the same words from two different languages. Christ is the Greek word and Messiah is the Hebrew word. They are the same word or title for the savior.

Likewise the Old Testament in the book of Jeremiah which is quoted here, prophesies of the Christ, and since Jeremiah was a revered prophet, one cannot pick and choose what scriptures to accept and which to reject. A person cannot have the Bible of his own choosing. You cannot pick and choose what truth's you will or will not believe.

And again, here our passage it is the Holy Spirit who is the witness, the communicator of all scriptures. What you perceive right now is courtesy of the Holy Spirit. You cannot hear the Spirit. You cannot feel Him. You will have no sensation of the Holy Spirit whatsoever. The Holy Spirit and His functions are not a part of our human senses. You cannot see, hear, smell, taste, or feel the spiritual aspect of your life. If that were the case then people would have an excuse for crediting themselves in some aspect of Gods plan.

The new covenant though we call it new, is not a new revelation, but it is the fulfillment of the old covenant.

The promise came not from Jeremiah, but from God Himself. And more specifically the Holy Spirit testified by way of the scriptures which He revealed to Jeremiah and to us through Jeremiah's writings.

Jeremiah prophesied the new covenant, the fulfillment of the old. No one can accept His teachings and reject the new covenant.

There is but one subject of the entire Bible. From Genesis to Revelation the main topic is the Savior, the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
