Heb. 10:28-29

28 He [tis] that despised [atheteo] Moses [Moseus]' law [nomos] died [apothnesko] without [choris] mercy [oiktirmos] under [epi] two [duo] or [e] three [treis] witnesses [martus]:
29 Of how much [posos] sorer [cheiron] punishment [timoria], suppose ye [dokeo], shall he be thought worthy [axioo], who [ho] hath trodden under foot [katapateo] the Son [huios] of God [theos], and [kai] hath counted [hegeomai] the blood [haima] of the covenant [diatheke], wherewith [hos] [en] he was sanctified [hagiazo], an unholy thing [koinos], and [kai] hath done despite [enubrizo] unto the Spirit [pneuma] of grace [charis]? KJV-Interlinear

28 Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? NASB

The Law of Moses refers to the many aspects of the offerings and sacrifices and daily living codes of life, that are found in the Levitical code.

Throughout the books of Levitical codes there are numerous commands to do or not do this or that. The penalty in many of the violations of the code is death. Certainly a dramatic, costly, and final punishment in ones life.

Remember that the Levitical code is a shadow of the true code of conduct and thinking, in heaven. To violate these mandates, then one is in effect rejecting Gods word, rejecting the Savior, and therefore rejecting God Himself.

To reject the Word is to reject the Son. To reject the Son is to reject the Father. Likewise when you reject any aspect of Gods plan, then you reject the Holy Spirit. All three members of the Godhead operate from the same game plan for history. They are, none of them, independent from the others in their thinking or action.

Humanity in its imagination tries to reinvent Gods plan and the roles of the respective members of the Godhead, even to the point of rejecting any one or all of them.

Death as a result of violating the Mosaic Law, represents the principle of death as a result of rejecting God, or any aspect of God or His plan.

The Old Testament is one long series of parables. It teaches spiritual truths through the stories and lessons of the Old Testament.

John 5:23
He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. NASB

You cannot pick and choose who or which aspects of Biblical principles you will obey, and which ones you will ignore. That includes the very highest authorities themselves - Father, Son, and Spirit. To reject any aspect of Gods Word, then you in effect are insulting the entire Trinity.

Acts 17:30-31
30 'Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, 31 because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead. ' NASB

To place yourself in opposition to Gods truth, means that you are in effect going to be trampled underfoot. Trampling underfoot means that you are looked upon as worthless, like a bug that is stepped on and squashed. So it is with anyone who takes that attitude toward God and His plan. If you treat Him as worthless, then you place yourself in just that position of worthlessness.

Unbelievers are a worthless lot. They have no future with any value. Their destiny is the Lake of Fire and that is as low as anyone can ever get.

Believers who ignore their daily study, and therefore ignore their spiritual life, are a worthless lot among those who are saved. Granted they will go to heaven and they will have no more sorrow, no more tears, etc. But they will have no participation in additional rewards in heaven. And the key word here is 'additional.'

Everyone who goes to heaven will have phenomenal blessings. Just having a resurrection body will be phenomenal. But there is a great deal more to heaven than just having an indestructible body.

So if there are consequences to engaging in violations for earthly rules, then how much more are the consequences of violating the rules of heaven?

And the answer to that question, which is put by our passage is, that the violations of Gods rules, Gods principles, Gods mandates, will bring certain and far greater loss or hardships. Violations of earthly laws are difficult enough. Death in many cases. But violations of Gods spiritual laws are far more costly. For unbelievers that cost is terrible beyond imagination. For negative believers that cost is loss of phenomenal blessings for all of eternity, not to mention having a more difficult time in this life.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
