You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Heb. 10:37-39

37 For [gar] yet [eti] a little [mikron] while [hosos] [hosos], and he that shall come [erchomai] will come [heko], and [kai] will [chronizo] not [ou] tarry [chronizo].
38 Now [de] the just [dikaios] shall live [zao] by [ek] faith [pistis]: but [kai] if [ean] any man draw back [hupostello], my [mou] soul [psuche] shall have [eudokeo] no [ou] pleasure [eudokeo] in [en] him [autos].
39 But [de] we [hemeis] are [esmen] not [ou] of them who draw back [hupostole] unto [eis] perdition [apoleia]; but [alla] of them that believe [pistis] to [eis] the saving [peripoiesis] of the soul [psuche]. KJV-Interlinear

37 For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. 38 But My righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him. 39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul. NASB

The writer does not quote scripture to document his words here. There is a general presumption that everyone is already familiar with and knows that Christ is coming soon, and that the spiritual side of ones life is based on faith through the learning of Bible doctrine from a position of fellowship.

The other side of ones life, the temporal side, is based on human empiricism, human senses, human logic, and so forth. The temporal side of life helps you reason and sets you apart from other creatures, but the temporal will never get you across that huge gulf that separates you from God.

Christ is coming soon. When He went to the Cross, He accomplished all that needed to be accomplished in history. History could very well have continued with the final seven years of the age of Israel, at which time Satan will make his last ditch effort in defeating God.

Of course history did not come to an end back then. We can be very thankful for that, otherwise you and I would never have come into existence. Yet, here we all are. We have an opportunity for life and a phenomenal life at that.

The fact that Christ could have concluded history nearly 2000 years ago, means that the Rapture could occur at any moment. And not only that, but since each of our physical lives have no guarantee of a tomorrow, our individual lives could come to an end without any notice, as well.

So, a great deal is on the line with respect to your spiritual life and your becoming a hero in history, or your becoming nothing more than historical filler.

Don't think that you can do nothing in your spiritual life because you are depending on that effort from someone else. Each of us is an individual and each one of us is going to be held responsible for our own spiritual life. In heaven, there will not be any marriage. No more children. We will all be independent individuals - with lots of friends.

Matt. 22:29-30
29 But Jesus answered and said to them, 'You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures, or the power of God. 30 'For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. NASB

Furthermore, any talents or gifts you might have in this life, will be gone. Your resurrection body will make you equally and phenomenally fabulous with everyone else. Your earthly talents or wit do not advance you one single bit in your spiritual life. They might help you have a better life now, but then to whom God gives much, much is expected.

Those with much have all that they have, for a reason. And, they have an obligation to God to pursue their spiritual life as well as an obligation to mankind. That obligation to man generally comes in the form of supporting Bible teaching, and charity. Of course we all have those obligations, but some will be given more in order to help more. Those who have less are not exempt however.

Your spiritual life comes not from your doing things in this world, by means of your talents or abilities. To pursue life only through your mental or physical abilities, is to pursue destruction. This makes you a loser.

Your real life is in your soul and your soul needs to have truth in order to grow up and function properly. Truth comes by way of Bible doctrine. This builds your faith. And faith is your confidence in things not necessarily based on physical or logical evidence, but on the spiritual or immaterial things of life.

Your spiritual life is your path to a tremendous future.

Gen. 17:1-2
1 Now when Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, 'I am God Almighty; Walk before Me, and be blameless. 2 'And I will establish My covenant between Me and you, And I will multiply you exceedingly.' NASB

Abram was commanded to be blameless and to walk before God. Abram was promised an exceedingly prosperous future. The Old Testament is one long series of parables. The Old Testament is a shadow of heavenly realities. All of these examples apply to each one of us. Abram received a new name, so too, you have a new name awaiting you one day, and much more.

Our walk must be in fellowship. Our life must be directed by Bible doctrine. We can only follow that which we know, and we can only know that which we have learned. Consequently following this path, the path of Gods word, through life will qualify us for great future rewards. Anything else will lead us only to great loss.

The Levitical Priesthood engaged in work of this world. They accomplished nothing. Christ engaged in work of the spiritual realm. He accomplished everything. Which pattern does your life follow?

God has established many things of natural order to help us learn right from wrong. To separate and discern the normal from the abnormal, the truth from the lie . Some of the obvious things are respect for privacy and the property of others. The 'Thou shalt not's' help us live a reasonably decent and moral life.

But there are more things that help guide us through life. For example, men are supposed to be men. Women are supposed to be women. Trying to reverse the fundamental basic structures of life is tantamount to rejecting Gods design. The content of the soul always overflows to the outward appearance and actions of the individual.

When the male takes on the characteristics (attitude, appearance) of the female, or when the female takes on the characteristics (attitude, appearance) of the male, then those individuals are functioning in defiance of Gods design. The same thing applies to criminals. They pursue dishonesty instead of honesty. These are opposites.

Anytime God is rejected, then truth is rejected and the opposite is the result. God teaches truth and when that is rejected, then the lie is pursued.

Truth preserves the soul. Lack of faith is poison to the soul. Your soul requires truth which comes only through the daily study of Gods word. Daily because you need a daily meal in order to sustain yourself. It is true in the physical realm (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and it is true in the spiritual realm.

You need to be cleaned up from time to time. To clean up your soul, you confess your sins to God the Father. In the physical realm you wash yourself when you get dirty. Most of us wash our hands several times a day. We take showers maybe once a day or once a week whether we need it or not. When you put off bathing, you stink. So God thinks the same about your putting off your confession. In sin you stinketh!!

God won't admit you into His palace (fellowship) when you stink.

God seeks pleasure in you. His target of pleasure is His Word in your soul, and your presence, in fellowship, before Him. When God looks at you He does not see your natural abilities. He does not see your high IQ. He does not see your talents. God is not impressed with you at all. Whatever you have, He gave it all to you in the first place. None of us sat down at the genetic counter before we were born and selected our own makeup.

When God looks at us, He sees only that which has value, and of which came from Him. Christ (the gospel) in you, in terms of your salvation by means of faith, and Christ (the written word) in you, in terms of your advancement to spiritual maturity.

Anything else is, well, nothing. Because we are all nothings. God in us makes us into something's. And that is where we should want to be, for something is significant, and nothing is - nothing.

Therefore, the key to your life, to your success, to your destiny, is Bible doctrine in your soul.

And how do we come by that?

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
