Heb. 12:25

25 See [blepo] that ye refuse [paraiteomai] not [me] him that speaketh [laleo]. 25 See to it that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if those did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, much less shall we escape who turn away from Him who warns from heaven. NASB

This book of Hebrews has made several comparisons. It compared the first covenant with the better second covenant. It compared the Levitical Priesthood with the better Priesthood of Christ. It compared the Levitical sacrifices with the better sacrifice of Christ. It compared the first kingship with the better kingship of Christ. It compared the benefits of following the world with the better benefits of following heavens call. It compared the first mountain of Sinai with the better mountain of Zion. And that comparison continues.

On Sinai, God called out to the people. From Zion God calls out to the people. The first call warns of judgment. The second call promises blessings beyond imagination. Both go hand in hand with mans attitude toward God and His Word.

For those who ignored the first call, when God called down from the mountain, there was judgment, and many died never having seen salvation, never having seen spiritual maturity.

If Gods call from earth was severe, then imagine the repercussions of His call when He shakes not only the earth, but the entire universe. Who can escape that?

When the ground under you shakes, you don t have much anywhere that you can run to for safety. When the entire planet breaks apart, then what can a person do?

And yet that is exactly what awaits all who reject Christ.

Your life here on this planet will last only so long. Some will live into their twenties and some will live to be a hundred. The length of your life font is irrelevant. Your decisions in Christ are what are important to your entire existence.

One day you will be called back for judgment (unbelievers) or evaluation (believers). And that day is a certainty, not just a possibility, not a maybe, but it is a definite date already set out in the Divine Decrees. It will occur and sooner than you think.

When you are a teenager, looking at the possibility of getting old seems so far away. When you are old, you wonder what happened to all those years behind you. They went so fast. Then when you die and return to judgment, you ll wonder again how so much time could have gone by soooo fast. So we are not talking about tomorrow or next year, but perhaps next decade or even into the next century. God is patient. God has a definite plan for human history. It will all come to an end one day and then all bets are off.

Your life will end one of these days. You may slip in the shower, choke on some food, get killed in an accident, die of a stroke, or whatever. But one day sooner or later your end will come. You do not know when that time will occur.

Hag. 2:6

6 For thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. NASB

Isa. 13:13

13 Therefore I shall make the heavens tremble, And the earth will be shaken from its place At the fury of the LORD of hosts In the day of His burning anger. NASB

So, do not be the fool when so much is at stake. Your entire spiritual future is in your hands. Decide for God and doctrine and your future will be phenomenal. Decide against all of this, and your future will be far less than you anticipated.

It is really easy to get caught up in the worlds activities, what with movies, television, school, work, business, charity activities, news media, hobbies, social activities, crusades for this cause or that. And these can all serve to prevent your advancing in your spiritual life. Beware, and don t let the worlds calling, rule and control your life. The world would have you think that life will continue indefinitely, even though you pass cemeteries along the road all of the time. The world lies, liberal politicians lie, life s calling sends out lies, even in the face of truth. Don t be the fool, ignoring the truth and believing the lies.

God has a plan for your life, don t foul it all up and throw it away with your defiance toward truth.
