Heb. 13:10

10 We have [echo] an altar [thusiasterion], whereof [ek] [hos] they have [echo] no [ou] right [exousia] to eat [phago] which serve [latreuo] the tabernacle [skene]. KJV-Interlinear

10 We have an altar, from which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat. NASB

Of all of the sacrifices held throughout the year, the sacrifice held on the Day of Atonement was the most important.

During the rest of the year, the priests of the Levitical Priesthood had the right to eat from the animals who were offered in sacrifice and burned on the alter, but on the Day of Atonement, no one had that right. The animal was taken outside of the city and destroyed permanently.

So also, Christ was sentenced inside of the city, and taken outside of the city to be crucified. Jerusalem is an illustration of peace, the peace which comes from doctrine as well as residence with God. Neither sin nor mans works have any place inside that relationship.

The tabernacle represents the Levitical Law, the law of Mt. Sinai. It represents the works of man and the condemnation of mankind. Anyone who serves mans condemnation, cannot serve the alter of God, for mans works are rejected in Gods plan and are not a part of Gods salvation work.

Our alter is Christ, the one true alter and the one true sacrifice. In His work we have no part We did not help in His accomplishment. We are merely the recipients of the gift of His work for us.

So again, as the previous verse states, do not get carried away nor be carried away with the accomplishments of your own effort or invention.

Most folks in this world see their getting ahead as being by means of their own effort. They plot and plan and maneuver and manipulate and hope their way through life. They wish for the breaks, the contacts, the edge which will get them ahead so that they will have, or be in a position to get, the things they want.

Some just want marriage and a happy life, others have great ambitions and seek approbation, position, fame, fortune, notoriety and so forth. When doctrine is excluded from the life, then your only alternative is to sell your soul, which is in effect what you are doing by excluding doctrine from your life. You are selling it to the world.

The profit return on your sale will always end up zero. And actually that return will be much lower than zero, because by giving up on doctrine you give away all of the blessings that accompany it.

Anyone who ignores God and doctrine, anyone who is indifferent toward God and doctrine, anyone who rejects God and doctrine, anyone who substitutes their own beliefs for that which God and doctrine offer, anyone who compromises (modifies) that which God offers, to all of these, no right is given to participate in Gods reward.

Remember that there are two mountains upon whose alter you can approach life Sinai and Zion. Mt. Sinai represents mans efforts and that effort is condemned. Mt. Zion represents Christ s effort and that effort is acknowledged by God the Father. That effort is blessed. That effort is grace.

The whole point of this verse is, make your priority decisions based on truth and not emotion. Make the right choice for what path in life you want to pursue. The right choice is through Christ. The wrong choice is to figure it all out yourself and let the world in one of its many invented beliefs, lead you astray.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
