KJV-Interlinear John 15:18-19 18 'If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 'If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. NASB Cain hated Abel, because Abel's works were righteous. Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing. Joseph's brothers hated him because his father loved him. Saul hated David because the Lord was with him. Ahab hated Micaiah because of his prophecies. All of these people could have enjoyed the good graces of God, but they chose against God. Their choices rendered them not the things they desired, and so such are the causeless causes of the world's hatred. What exactly is the 'world' anyway. Is it the rocks and trees and mountains and oceans? Is it the clouds and animal life, the fishes of the sea and birds soaring through the air? No. The world refers to a concept, a philosophy, an idea, something that is difficult to quantify or measure. The world is a term for the orderly adornment of humanity apart from God. That is worth repeating. The world is a term for the orderly adornment of humanity apart from God, together with the lusts and ambitions, the desires and wishes which man has invented for himself as the final end or accomplishment of his life long journey to arrive at some predefined destination, a utopia or manmade heaven, wherein his dreams and desires are all fulfilled. The reality of this concept is frustration and heartache due to the inability to make this idea become a reality, and the failures which result due to the deception of this philosophy. The world is driven by mans sin nature, and as such it is unsympathetic, hostile, indifferent, and blind to the truth. The blindness is not one due to not ever having a chance to understand life, but is due to the hearing of the truth and turning ones back on it, by means of ones own free will decisions. Decisions made on a daily basis throughout ones life. The world hates those who have blessing because it does not have blessing. The world presumes that it is entitled to blessings, when in reality no created being is entitled to anything. The world is guilty of conspiracy by virtue of its collective and common approach to its philosophy, Psa. 83:5. It matters not whether the world (people) gather together in a common effort to fight God, or whether they conduct their negative lives independently. The same approach to life which is anti-God is enough to indict them and to convict them of conspiracy. Anyone who makes friends with this type of philosophy is an enemy of God, Jas. 4:4. God rejects those who are unredeemed (unbelievers). God rejects those who are negative when blessing is involved, even though they are saved, Gal. 4:29. Aligning ones self with God results in becoming His friend. We in this dispensation have one more relationship with God through Christ and that is our Royal Family status. That is the quintessence of relationships for those who advance to spiritual maturity. The world (any life style or attitude which is anti-God) hated God long before it hated each one of us. Lucifer who is now called Satan, desired to be as good as and even better than God. He set the pattern for the worldliness which surrounds us now. Satan promotes false concepts or principles all of which are designed to counter any principle which God teaches. Satan's intent is to confuse and to distort or make uncertain as to what truth really is. God overcomes all of this by communicating the truth and by making it very clear to all. Any who are confused are confused because they reject the truth and in so doing, they embrace the lies of life. Now we have one more concept. Before the Cross, Satan's objective was to prevent the human race from surviving. Then he worked toward preventing the Hebrews from developing. Then he was concerned with destroying the line of Christ. Then the birth of Christ. Then he was concerned with preventing the Cross on Passover. In all of these Satan failed. Christ came into the world, went to the Cross and was raised up and is now seated at the right hand of the Father. What is Satan's objective now? Christians, historical trend, and the Jews. The angelic conflict has widened considerably. Satan hates Christians because blessing comes into the world through them. Objective - distort doctrine and render Christians impotent in their spiritual lives. Satan would like to control historical events, the forming of the nations specifically. What is ahead for the world is the tribulation, but prior to that will be the Rapture. That will not occur until the last believer of the Royal Family believes in Christ. And simultaneously with that will be the alignment of the nations for the final seven years of the Age of Israel. If doctrine is confused then people will not believe and the Royal Family numbers cannot be completed. So Satan postpones history. If the nations can be controlled (under Satan) or confused or led in another direction, then the alignment might never come about. If the Jews are destroyed totally and completely, then their last generation will not be around to finally accept Christ and thus won't be available to be saved by a returning Christ as promised by God. If God can be discredited in any way, no matter how slight, then Satan wins the angelic conflict (so he thinks) because he will have proved that God is indeed no God at all but just another being subject to flaws and therefore not qualified to run history nor even control the universe. So you see. We will be subjected to an onslaught of attacks by people, but the driving force originates from Satan's agenda in his original and ongoing attempt to defeat God. We just get in the way by choosing sides with God. The world promotes love but it is a distorted love based on emotion. Note the use of the word 'phileo' here. This is an unstable and often deceptive love. See the comparison chart of the various kinds of love in the Bible Study Charts book. So not only does the 'world' promote false goals, and recognizes them as being unattainable, but entertains them and promotes them through additional false concepts which drive ones emotions. This is called marketing. Drive this car, get the girls. Live here and you'll be successful. Eat this or wear that and you'll be popular and beautiful, etc. The world is a deceptive lure into an abyss from which anyone who jumps into it, can never escape. Bible study on a daily basis is the only hope to avoid the trap of the 'world' and prevent ones being associated with it.
