John 16:1

Lesson # John 16:1
Study Material - John 16:1

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

John 16:1

1 These things [tauta] have I spoken [laleo] unto you [humin] , that [hina me] ye should [skandalizo] not [hina me] be offended [skandalizo] . KJV-Interlinear

John 16:1

1 'These things I have spoken to you, that you may be kept from stumbling. NASB

'The word of God is alive and powerful,' are words that you should commit into your memory. If Christians were left to themselves they would fall away and perish from lack of knowledge, from lack of truth. So God gives us freely all His wisdom which is applicable for our survival in this life and which prepares us for the next. He gives us doctrine before hand such that we will be informed regarding life, and consequently we will not be taken by surprise when circumstances of this world launch an assault against us.

God provides Bible doctrine as the source information. He gives us the Holy Spirit as the principle communicator. He has prepared for us the classroom or sphere or environment (fellowship) within which we can learn and grow and function in our spiritual life. He has given us all the necessary ingredients with which to build within our own soul, muscle, a fortress, a refuge, a palace, a temple within which we might live free from the tyranny and antithetical views of this world. He has given us the strength (faith) whereby we will not live in fear but in courage and power and with these resources we might face all the world has to throw at us.

Christ saw the dangers of this world and by our positive attitude we come to the point where He can communicate those dangers and teach us how to deal with them and not falter.

We are not to be ashamed, not to be offended, not to be frustrated, or depressed, or scandalized nor discredited. The world will make an issue of our personal lives, but the world always challenges the irrelevant. It has no power or prayer or hope of winning a challenge against the truth.

The truth is made known by God, and is made clear. The communicator is never the issue. Certainly Paul (formerly Saul) was not a very reputable person, but God took a person of extreme ill repute, and made him the chief writer of the New Testament. As he states in 2 Tim. 1:12, 'For this reason I also suffer these things, but I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day. NASB

There are two opinions in this world. Gods opinion is the only relevant opinion. All other opinions are collectively categorized into the second opinion and are irrelevant.

Isa. 55:7-9
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. 8 'For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Neither are your ways My ways,' declares the LORD. 9 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. NASB

We might think that any and all of our efforts go for not in this world, however anything which God does, never comes back to Him empty.

Isa. 55:10-11
10 'For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, And do not return there without watering the earth, And making it bear and sprout, And furnishing seed to the sower and bread to the eater; 11 So shall My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. NASB

So, with God in each one of us, we are certain to end up winners in life. That is a guarantee which the world can never boast. Whatever your circumstances in life. Whether you are a magnificent physical specimen or whether you have many disabilities or handicaps, your circumstances in life will have no effect on your spiritual success. As long as you are positive and consistent in your Bible study, then God will take you from the depths of whatever situation you might find yourself in, and He will take you to the pinnacle of success in your spiritual life.

Alone in life we would stumble and fail, but with God we can all be winners.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
