John 16:25-27

Lesson # John 16:25-27
Study Material - John 16:25-27

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

John 16:25-27

25 These things [tauta] have I spoken [laleo] unto you [humin] in [en] proverbs [paroimia] : but [alla] the time [hora] cometh [erchomai] , when [hote] I shall [laleo] no more [ouketi] speak [laleo] unto you [humin] in [en] proverbs [paroimia] , but [alla] I shall shew [anaggello] you [humin] plainly [parrhesia] of [peri] the Father [pater] .
26 At [en] that [ekeinos] day [hemera] ye shall ask [aiteo] in [en] my [mou] name [onoma] : and [kai] I say [lego] not [ou] unto you [humin] , that [hoti] I [ego] will pray [erotao] the Father [pater] for [peri] you [humon] :
27 For [gar] the Father [pater] himself [autos] loveth [phileo] you [humas] , because [hoti] ye [humeis] have loved [phileo] me [eme] , and [kai] have believed [pisteuo] that [hoti] I [ego] came out [exerchomai] from [para] God [theos] . KJV-Interlinear

John 16:25-27

25 'These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; an hour is coming when I will speak no more to you in figurative language, but will tell you plainly of the Father. 26 'In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I will request the Father on your behalf; 27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from the Father. NASB

To those who lack understanding in Gods Word, He, Jesus, has been speaking in parables (figurative language). Ignorant people or those who are in their immature state of spiritual growth, cannot understand the more advanced concepts of spiritual information contained within Bible doctrine. They need simple explanations in order to help them understand, and to begin to grow.

To those who have an understanding in Bible doctrine, then the parables are no longer necessary. There always comes a day, when a person who has been consistent in his daily Bible studies, will begin to wean off of the simpler lessons, and will begin to graduate to more complex concepts in Gods Word.

The lessons each day become more and more clear. The concepts are easier to grasp, and the building of Bible doctrine in the soul just gets easier. We learn not everything in one day, but we learn a little each day, verse by verse, precept by precept, building on what we have already learned, and adding to that foundation of knowledge, building understanding and eventually wisdom in our own soul.

The apostles have been used to asking Jesus their questions. But there will come a time when they will have direct access to God the Father. Actually they already have that access now, but they just do not realize it.

In the Old Testament, access was taught as having to go through a priest in order to get to the Father. No one could go directly to the Father, but what is a priest, but a holy person, or intermediary. And what is holiness? Holiness is the combination of righteousness and justice. We know that righteousness (Gods righteousness that is), is purity. It is a state absent of blemish, of filth, of flaws and so forth. Justice is the act of washing or cleansing away those flaws or that filth. Thus the office of priest is a picture of access to God through being clean or cleaned up. What is that? Fellowship.

Now, we have direct access to God within our dispensation, because we have been placed in union with Christ. We are royalty. Jesus Christ is the King/Priest after the pattern of Melchizedek. This makes us all Royal Priests, thus giving us the privilege of having direct access to God the Father. We still have to approach Him through Jesus Christ, but we do not pray to Jesus in order to have Him pass the prayer along to the Father. We pray to the Father directly.

Why is this possible? Because the Father loves the Son, because God loves mankind ('What is man that thou are mindful of him?'), because God looked down through the tunnel of time and saw positive volition toward Him from man and put together a plan for saving mankind. Therefore, since we who have believed in Him, have abided by His will, then He is faithful and receives us back to Him because we have been obedient to His plan, His rules, and His will.

We have believed in Christ. We have confessed our sins (regularly). We have committed ourselves to a daily study program. And we have stuck with it regardless of our preconceived ideas, regardless of the circumstances of our lives.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
