Luke 14:21-24

21 So [kai] that [ekeinos] servant [doulos] came [paraginomai] , and shewed [apaggello] his [autos] lord [kurios] these things [tauta] . Then [tote] the master of the house [oikodespotes] being angry [orgizo] said [epo] to his [autos] servant [doulos] , Go out [exerchomai] quickly [tacheos] into [eis] the streets [plateia] and [kai] lanes [rhume] of the city [polis] , and [kai] bring in [eisago] hither [hode] the poor [ptochos] , and [kai] the maimed [anaperos] , and [kai] the halt [cholos] , and [kai] the blind [tuphlos] .
22 And [kai] the servant [doulos] said [epo] , Lord [kurios] , it is done [ginomai] as [hos] thou hast commanded [epitasso] , and [kai] yet [eti] there is [esti] room [topos] .
23 And [kai] the lord [kurios] said [epo] unto [pros] the servant [doulos] , Go out [exerchomai] into [eis] the highways [hodos] and [kai] hedges [phragmos] , and [kai] compel [anagkazo] them to come in [eiserchomai] , that [hina] my [mou] house [oikos] may be filled [gemizo] .
24 For [gar] I say [lego] unto you [humin] , That [hoti] none [oudeis] of those [ekeinos] men [aner] which [ho] were bidden [kaleo] shall taste [geuomai] of my [mou] supper [deipnon] . KJV-Interlinear

21 'And the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the head of the household became angry and said to his slave, 'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.' 22 'And the slave said, 'Master, what you commanded has been done, and still there is room.' 23 'And the master said to the slave, 'Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 'For I tell you, none of those men who were invited shall taste of my dinner.' ' NASB

God has a policy and it is very clear, fair, and honest. His policy is based on His perfect righteousness and justice. Righteousness is the absence of flaws of every type, and justice is the cleansing away of every flaw of every type..

The initial invitations were issued and those who received them rejected them. Things here on earth were far too important than to be bothered with attending heavens feast.

So God imposes His policy, as He always does and has throughout history, and canceled those invitations. Those which were first rejected by people with excuses or other priorities (unbelievers).

He broadens the guest list to those who are not so well off, the poor, the crippled, the destitute and so forth. These are not the pride of humanity. They are not the cover models, not the physically fit, not the well to do, not the educated and the well groomed. These represent those who do not have earthly priorities which blind them from seeing the truth.

The Jewish leadership was blinded by their own self importance. The Jewish common citizen was not. This is the second group who were to receive the invitations, and many responded positively (faith in Christ) to the invitations and will be present at heavens feast.

Then there is the third group. There is still room for more at the feast. Unlike the Pharisees and their cohorts who believed that the Word of God and Heaven was restricted to them only, Jesus now takes great care in making it clear that heaven is vast and is available to all of humanity. That includes the gentiles. And to them, the third group, the invitations were sent out and great numbers accepted them and accepted them in accordance with the terms of the invitations which God sent - Believe in Christ.

To those who rejected the invitations, then there is no alternate invitation, no alternate means of entry into the feast (heaven). There is no party crashing, no back door, no other method of getting into heaven to spend ones eternal future.

There is only one way to get into heaven and that is to believe in Jesus Christ.

Jesus thus ends the dinner on a note which none of the guests anticipated. Their presumptions of self importance in Gods eyes were false. Their use of religion, pretending to respect it in order to impress and persuade the masses, but in fact holding it in contempt, because the Pharisees and others decided that they deserved their high places anyway, were in fact their one way ticket out of heaven and straight into the Lake of Fire.

And Jesus finishes the dinner by stating that in heaven it is His dinner which will be held, not some other fictitious messiah. For He is the one and only Son of God, the true Messiah, and there is no other.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
