Mark 3:13-15

Lesson # Mark 3:13-15
Study Material - Mark 3:13-15

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Mark 3:13-15

13 And [kai] he goeth up [anabaino] into [eis] a mountain [oros] , and [kai] calleth [proskaleomai] unto him whom [hos] he [autos] would [thelo] : and [kai] they came [aperchomai] unto [pros] him [autos] .
14 And [kai] he ordained [poieo] twelve [dodeka] , that [hina] they should be [o] with [meta] him [autos] , and [kai] that [hina] he might send [apostello] them [autos] forth [apostello] to preach [kerusso] ,
15 And [kai] to have [echo] power [exousia] to heal [therapeuo] sicknesses [nosos] , and [kai] to cast out [ekballo] devils [daimonion] : KJV-Interlinear

Mark 3:13-15

13 And He went up to the mountain and summoned those whom He Himself wanted, and they came to Him. 14 And He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him, and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out the demons. NAS

To go where Christ goes takes some significant resolve in ones life. We follow by sticking with our daily Bible study, by being persistent, by learning, by analyzing what we hear and learn, and by applying it to our daily lives. That all takes persistent self discipline to accomplish. Not many will stick with a daily study of any kind, let alone Bible study. Too often social interests or other things interfere with ones study time.

Jesus went up the mountain. Not many will follow, but twelve did. Just following is not enough however. We know that one of the twelve was an unbeliever and would betray Jesus nearly a year later. Again, actions, or even words do not make you a Christian. The spiritual life is in the soul, not in the actions. What you think is what you really are.

Many will come to Christ, few will follow. Of the few that do follow, fewer still will persist to the point of spiritual maturity. If you are one of those who persist, then you are the truest of minorities in all the universe.

Still of these twelve, none were great until after the Cross and after Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was given. That was the time when the Church Age began. Our beginning as a Church Age began with twelve, or should I say eleven knuckle heads. That is really how they functioned during Christ's ministry. They just did not understand much though they did teach the gospel, there was a lot they just did not grasp themselves. Even at the point of the Cross, they were totally beside themselves when they perceived Jesus as lost, and they were now alone with no guidance, or so they thought.

The number twelve finds its origin in the twelve tribes of Israel. Twelve comes to mean the complete nation. Twelve tribes was something that the people of that day could relate to as they looked back at the twelve sons of Jacob. Actually there were thirteen as Joseph had two sons which were included in the count. He was the recipient of the double portion. This double portion will relate to the Royal Family as being in union with Christ. Christ being the first born son of those to be resurrected and we in this Church Age will follow at the rapture. The next scheduled resurrection.

Jesus Christ calls to Himself whom He will, but that is consistent with the Plan of the Father, Jn. 17:6, who gives and appoints all believers to which Christ can call. The Father you remember divined the original Plan and through it foresaw all who would believe.

These twelve were called and assigned a purpose. They were to teach and to cast out demons. Demons are not restricted to the concept of bad angels, but also the concept of bad thought patterns. People who lack Bible doctrine in their soul have bad thoughts in their soul. Any thought when it lacks orientation with Gods wisdom is deemed false, forfeit, void, and therefore bad.

These gifts were in many cases temporary. We do not see them in our current time though many will come along and try to imitate them in an effort to impress the naive. The intent f these gifts is to first establish the credibility of the apostle or of the person to whom the gift was given. Once people recognize their authority and expertise in Bible teaching, then the gift is no longer necessary. They were not appointed for the purpose of continuing the magic show and impressing people, but for the purpose of teaching Bible doctrine. Salvation is paramount in everyone's life. The once saved, spiritual growth is paramount.

Jesus brought them to separate them from the crowd. Once you are saved you are separated out from the rest. actually you have several separations in life. At birth you are separated from your mother. The cord is cut and you are on your own so to speak, no longer dependent on her services via that cord, but you are still dependent on momma for your upbringing. Your next separation is at the point of salvation. Here you are separated out from the rest of humanity, from the rest of the unbelieving world. You are no longer dependent on the will of the world, but on the will of a new momma - Bible Doctrine. Your next separation is spiritual maturity. This separates you from the thinking of the world and places you in a separate compartment of thinking (Gods thinking). You are still living 'in' the world but not 'of 'the world. Your next separation is the death. Here you are removed from the living of the world and placed in that temporary state awaiting resurrection. You are totally dependent on God, just as you were totally dependent on your mother when an infant. The next separation is resurrection and that gives you even greater freedom. A resurrection body, indestructible, and the looks of a thirty year old, in your prime! The final separation is received at the Judgment Seat of Christ. There you will receive, if you have advanced to spiritual maturity, great rewards far beyond which rewards those who did not advance to maturity will receive. This is the last an final separation from he crowd. This is your destiny, your goal, and you can achieve it by merely sticking with your Bible study.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
