Matthew 16:19

Lesson # Matt. 16:19
Study Material - Matt. 16:19

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 16:19

19 And [kai] I will give [didomi] unto thee [soi] the keys [kleis] of the kingdom [basileia] of heaven [ouranos] : and [kai] whatsoever [hos] [ean] thou shalt bind [deo] on [epi] earth [ge] shall be [esomai] bound [deo] in [en] heaven [ouranos] : and [kai] whatsoever [hos] [ean] thou shalt loose [luo] on [epi] earth [ge] shall be [esomai] loosed [luo] in [en] heaven [ouranos] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 16:19

19 'I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.' NAS

Peter is one pebble among many pebbles which will make up the huge rock of the Christian faith. Jesus Christ is the link between life and death. He, Jesus Christ, is the rock upon which all place their faith and confidence, and from which all believers receive their eternal security.

To that faith, to that rock belongs the keys of history. It will determine who will be bound, that is forbidden, and of whom will be loosed, that is permitted to become a part of the greater rock in life.

The policy is consistent between heaven and earth. There is no double standard. There is not one set of rules for heaven, and another set of rules on earth. Angels have to abide by the same rules as mankind. Though we do not have the details of the revolt and the decision process that all angels had to go through, we know enough of doctrine to conclude that first, God the Father has and can have nothing to do with sin. We know that Jesus Christ is the only means of approaching and access to the Father.

We now know that there is one policy in heaven, and that it likewise applies consistently and with perfect continuity on earth.

Therefore to everyone in heaven, the policy of God stands for them as it stands for everyone here on earth. There is but one policy, one Christ, one rock, one mountain, one means of becoming an integral part of that mountain - the pebble. 'Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.'

All other religions on earth are lies. There are four great religions in history - Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and the last to be invented was Islam. There have been many more sects and cults and various beliefs - many of which have been invented in the last couple of centuries, but Christianity or looking to the Son of God, is the only legitimate faith and means of access to God. It was that way in Adam's time, in Abraham's time, in Moses time, in David's time, and is the same for you and me in our current day.

God is consistent and does not change His policy with the weather or the times. God is reliable and dependable, on whom we may have confidence regardless of the circumstances of our life. This is the Devils world, and we may expect (shouldn't be surprised) to find ourselves in various forms of trouble from time to time. But even if the pressure lingers on for a long time, we may always look to Christ and Gods policy and plan for our life as well as for all of human history. There is a definite plan which the nations are following. Christ is guiding history to its conclusion, and we will be part of the victory when it is all said and done.

Christ did not turn His back on those in need when He was performing miracle after miracle. He will not turn His back on you. Those who lack doctrine (spiritual children) have a greater need for miracles. Those who have doctrine (spiritually mature adults) have a lessor need for miracles. Faith from spiritual growth is the difference.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
