Matthew 19:30

Lesson # Matt. 19:30
Study Material - Matt. 19:30

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 19:30

30 But [de] many [polus] that are first [protos] shall be [esomai] last [eschatos] ; and [kai] the last [eschatos] shall be first [protos] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 19:30

30 'But many who are first will be last; and the last, first. NAS

Mankind has a very subtle view which brings out the prejudice of mans opinion and preferences, over those of Gods. Since we try to retain certain life styles, since we try to legitimize certain ways we live, and in addition try to weave these beliefs into our Christian life, then we inevitably end up with a perverted view of truth.

In centuries past witches were burned in the name of righteousness. In centuries past people were condemned for their differing opinions from those of the established Church. In centuries past and even now in our current day people will come up with rationalized beliefs which they desire to be true simply because they are convenient to their chosen life style. Among these include same sex partnerships, or opposite sex partnerships (unmarried).

On the surface they are reasoned to be safe and non-harmful to self or even to others. They are just a personal preference to ones selected way of life.

However, therein hides the lie. Anytime a person begins to incorporate lies into the life, then the lies will grow ever so slowly and the result will be a severely compromised spiritual life. Once compromised and once the compromises are accepted as truth, then the door is open to other compromises and the downward slide out of ones spiritual life begins to accelerate.

Whenever challenged, the person will react to the challenge and drift away from whomever is making that challenge. If Bible doctrine makes that challenge then the person drifts away from God.

Choosing ones earthly priorities is choosing first for self. A person looks to their own truths and not to Gods. In pursuing self, in pursuing the drives of the sin nature, then the person eventually loses in life - that is a guarantee.

If on the other hand, a person places the drives of the sin nature behind him, if a person places self last, in other words, then by that action, God is placed first and the person will end up first in the spiritual life which gives all, and from which all blessings come.

The sin nature originates no blessing. Repeat, the sin nature originates no blessing. Its results only in misery. The sin nature is not only sin, it is that drive within ones self which rejects God plan for the individual. The sin nature has two areas within it. The first area is its area of strength which is human good. That is any good thing that a person does while out of fellowship. Any good that a person does from the strength of his own energy. That is the only good any unbeliever can produce. Ultimately the attitude is, 'I can do whatever is sufficient to earn my way through life and thus enter into heaven because of my efforts which I did myself in life.' This attitude justifies all manner of standards in society. The attitude justifies, 'If it doesn't hurt anyone else, then it is Ok.'

The other area of the sin nature is sin (its area of weakness), and within this area there are two opposite tendencies. The first is to asceticism (a self righteous attitude - often very subtle) and the opposite is to lasciviousness (the party hearty and loose attitude of life).

Both of these major regions (human good and sin) form a powerful sin nature which can enslave a person and blind a person from their downward trend toward disaster. The only defense is Bible doctrine from which truth is made clear and decisions can be better made in order to avoid disaster in life, and to advance toward blessings in the spiritual life.

Putting ones self first is to place the agenda of the sin nature first - you'll lose. You'll have no chance for any form of victory in life.

Putting God first is to put ones self last (sin nature is squashed), and Gods wisdom, Gods standards are followed while the standards of personal desire are put out of ones life. In this case, the spiritual life is advanced and great blessings result.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
