Matthew 24:4-5

Lesson # Matt. 24:4-5
Study Material - Matt. 24:4-5

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 24:4-5

4 And [kai] Jesus [Iesous] answered [apokrinomai] and said [epo] unto them [autos] , Take heed [blepo] that no [me] man [tis] deceive [planao] you [humas] .
5 For [gar] many [polus] shall come [erchomai] in [epi] my [mou] name [onoma] , saying [lego] , I [ego] am [eimi] Christ [Christos] ; and [kai] shall deceive [planao] many [polus] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 24:4-5

4 And Jesus answered and said to them, 'See to it that no one misleads you. 5 'For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. NAS

People in desperate situations will look to anyone who seemingly has the wherewithall to make and keep promises of better times.

Now note the circumstances of the time immediately following the Rapture. The Rapture could occur at any moment. The world population does not have to necessarily be huge, as I have suggested in earlier lessons. Since the time of Pentecost the Rapture has been imminent. The timing of these birth pain events is irrelevant to world history. Or what I mean to say is that the timing of the Rapture is not dependent on world history, at least from our perspective. So all of these prophesied events could have occurred at any point in history. But we, of course know that they have not yet occurred, and that gives us a little more insight into history as far as we have seen it over these last 1970 plus years. This gives us some clues as to what Gods plan is for humanity.

When the Rapture occurs, then all believers and more importantly the restraining ministry of the Holy Spirit is removed from the world. People who are left behind are unbelievers. Unbelievers have no spiritual assets, no spiritual resources, no ability to discern spiritual events. They will be subjected to enormous pressures, and as such they will fast become a very desperate people. Desperate people will follow anyone who puts in front of them seemingly real solutions and hope.

Our example of this is post World War 1 Germany. The tremendous barriers placed on the country lead to a disastrous economy and Hitler. There are other examples in history, but they are all limited to individual countries or regions. The post Rapture problems will be world wide. No prosperous country to run to, no safe havens, no neutrality states.

This leaves a vacuum and into that vacuum rushes in many false Christs. They are opportunists seeking to con and otherwise take advantage of people in desperation. People will believe anything. They will pay for anything. They will follow anyone. They are easy targets for criminals and politicians.

So the first sign of birth pain, and probably the most important sign, as Jesus states it first, is the extreme danger of being mislead and distracted by false philosophies, false Christs.

Lets not fool ourselves. Will these false philosophies and false deliverers simply spring up out of nothing? No. Prior to the Rapture the world will exist, obviously. And in that time period there will have evolved many philosophies which are contrary to Gods teaching. We have them now. Many false religions, many false cults, many false philosophies or beliefs. Even indifference is a false belief, or state of mind.

As the population of the world continues to grow, then many more billions of peoples will be there to fuel even more false concepts, and perhaps even new false ideas. There is never a shortage of evil leadership, and there will not be a shortage of followers.

Even today, there are false leaders and would be saviors. But probably today in our relative climate of prosperity and not so harsh society, the biggest barrier to spiritual advancement is, indifference. People are simply not interested in God, or doctrine, or anything that interferes with their chosen life style.

We are all wrapped up in our daily routines. We have our work considerations, evening entertainment, social calendars, retirement, planning for that new family, new home, car, stereo, whatever. Nothing wrong with these things, per se, until they preoccupy our life to the extent that God is excluded.

The false truths, will explode immediately after the rapture. The seeds will be there already, and when the Holy Spirit is removed, then these bad seeds will spring up rapidly, as the world spins wildly out of control.

The anti-christ will rise up rapidly and try to create a utopia, at the expense of many innocent people. Many will follow him. But that utopia will never be realized. You recall the various judgments we studied in Revelation. The sealed scrolls being the broad overview of tyranny led atrocity after atrocity, and disaster after disaster. At the forefront of it all are the false promises of false leadership.

God gave us all life, volition, and doctrine. During our lifetime, we make decisions. If we make good decisions, then we receive more opportunities. If we make bad decisions, then we limit our opportunities. After it is all said and done, each one of us has to choose our own path in life. Our destiny follows our choices.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
