Matthew 24:6-8

Lesson # Matt. 24:6-8
Study Material - Matt. 24:6-8

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 24:6-8

6 And [de] ye shall [mello] hear [akouo] of wars [polemos] and [kai] rumours [akoe] of wars [polemos] : see [horao] that ye be [throeo] not [me] troubled [throeo] : for [gar] all [pas] these things must [dei] come to pass [ginomai] , but [alla] the end [telos] is [esti] not yet [oupo] .
7 For [gar] nation [ethnos] shall rise [egeiro] against [epi] nation [ethnos] , and [kai] kingdom [basileia] against [epi] kingdom [basileia] : and [kai] there shall be [esomai] famines [limos] , and [kai] pestilences [loimos] , and [kai] earthquakes [seismos] , in divers [kata] places [topos] .
8 All [de] [pas] these [tauta] are the beginning [arche] of sorrows [odin] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 24:6-8

6 'And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 'For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 'But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. NAS

Trouble will inundate the world immediately after the Rapture. Wars, rumors of wars, natural disasters, economic disasters, and much more. This trouble though tremendous in scope, will only be the beginning of the problems that will simply bury the world. It will get much, much worse.

During our current Church Age we live through many trends of disasters. Some have documented increases in earthquakes, and from time to time we see various weather cycles that make for difficult agriculture practices in various parts of the world, but the suggestion in these verses is not occasional and scattered trouble throughout the world. The phrase, 'will be hearing,' indicates that there will be a continual hearing of wars, of rumors of war, of famine, of natural disasters, and this news will increase in number as well as intensity on an on going basis. The culmination of all of this will be the Battle of Armageddon.

If you have the time, please read through the notes of the opening of the seven seals in Revelation. That reading combined with this study should give you a pretty good picture of the state of the world in the Tribulation. Remember that one single generation will live through and be witness to all of these events at the time of the end.

The wars will be political conflicts, cultural conflicts, racial conflicts, religious, ethnic, and so forth. There will be roving gangs which will steal, rape, kill, and destroy everything that stands in their way.

Kingdoms and nations is a reference to all kinds of geographical entities. In other words, there will be no place that will be exempt from these disasters and atrocities.

So, Christ says simply, 'do not be afraid.' Why? Because when people lack Bible doctrine, and then disaster suddenly falls all around them, and there is seemingly no place to run, then panic and fear are obvious results. Overwhelmed by their emotions, people cannot think and they make mistakes. These mistakes are bad decisions and they lead to even more exposure to danger.

Jesus also, tells us that 'in that day' people need to quickly recognize the signs of the times (the Tribulation). That these things, 'must take place.' Why? Because this is the plan of God and Gods plan for humanity will go on uninterrupted and without any modification or change to it. Again why? Why can't Jesus, who controls history, just change things so that they will not be so disastrous?
And that answer is because it is not Jesus Christ who is causing these disasters. People are making their own decisions and people without doctrine in their souls eventually drive themselves into deep trouble.

On a world wide scale, the trouble is tremendous.

Does the Rapture send the world into chaos? No. Why no? Because people make their own decisions. With the ministry of the Holy Spirit through believers in this world, there is an element of stability in the world. Removing that restraint and allowing people to continue their lives unrestrained, then leads the world into chaos. Conflict erupts, and in an area where there is conflict, then normal business, normal agriculture, normal economics is disrupted. Shortages and trouble - famine, inflation, instability, insecurity, crime and such, also result.

These things will occur, but the person who recognizes the times, and therefore get with an intensified program of Bible study, so that they can survive the Tribulation, will survive. They cannot wish or pray them away. Their best bet is to 'endure.' And then they will survive until the end of the Tribulation. God will reveal options to them such that they can escape trouble.

The same principles apply to us in our current life. When trouble hits us, all we need to do is think our way through it. Bible doctrine, once you have it in your soul, gives you a stability of soul, and that allows you to think. Thinking brings up options, and analysis of same, and eventually decisions (smart ones) are made.

The lack of doctrine in the soul, makes way for emotional decisions, and those are generally the wrong decisions for ones life. Wishes are not a good way to guide ones life.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
