Matthew 24:28

Lesson # Matt. 24:28
Study Material - Matt. 24:28

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 24:28

28 For [gar] wheresoever [ean] [hopou] the carcase [ptoma] is [o] , there [ekei] will [sunago] the eagles [aetos] be gathered together [sunago] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 24:28

28 'Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. NAS

This was apparently a common proverb in the ancient world. If you saw vultures circling overhead, then you knew that there was something dead beneath them.

Vultures gather over the dead. In contrast Christ gathers the living. There are only two types of people in the world, the living and the dead. There is no third choice. We are either destined, by means of our own personal decisions, to the vultures, or to Christ.

This is what many try to fight in their life. They try to redefine the rules of life. They try to impose their own standards. They try to rationalize their own compromises to life. They try to reason that if no one is hurt, then whatever they do is ok. Might as well try to close your eyes and commute to work through all the traffic, in the middle of a black out. Foolish of course, but then lots of people are fools. They just do not see their flaw. Actually they refuse to see their flaw.

But God makes the very wise in human standards, to seem as fools. Here is the example. What do you suppose the sign of the vultures means? Of course we have all seen the old western movies and we know that they circle over something dead, or something about to die. In this we are wise!!!

But in life there are more important things. Such as our individual eternal destinies. Seems pretty important to me, right?

Jesus just throws this item in there, out of the blue, when He is speaking of the obviousness of the lightning streaking across the sky. So His coming will be obvious too.

Any who live in our time and fall for the various cults who preach that Christ is here, are fools. They are those who do not study their Bible. Therefore they do not have the knowledge to discern the truth from the lie. They are fools for two reasons. First they are negative toward Bible study. And Second, they seek an alternative answer, a false one, to their search for answers. Many folks do this.

They hear the Bible, but do not listen. They seek answers to various questions, but reject the wisdom of God as to His answers. They look for something better, and they fall into a trap of deception. Actually they deceive themselves.

So it will be in the Tribulation. When time moves on very slowly, day after day, week after week, and there seems to be no end to the turmoil, then people will get fed up, impatient, emotional and they will stop waiting on God.

We can look briefly to Gideon's story. Many were called to fight off the enemy, but Gideon had too many as God told him. Those who came forward to fight were tested and the tens of thousands were whittled down to only 300. They would be up against many thousands of the enemy.

God makes His selection from those who are prepared spiritually. The end of the Tribulation will see only those living believers who have passed this very difficult test of faith. For only they will enter into the Millennium. Half hearted believers, indifferent believers, negative believers, and certainly all unbelievers will not enter into the Millennium. Only those who demonstrate their tremendous faith will remain alive and enter into the Millennium. Everyone else will die.

That is really the long and short of it. Your faith determines where you stand in your spiritual life. Are you tough spiritually or are you superficial? Will you wait for the vultures to come for you, or will you be waiting for Christ?

The signs of Christs return will be obvious. The signs of God in our everyday lives are obvious. The question is, how many really see them, believe them, comprehend them, and commit them to their daily lives? That answer is, very few. Many are called ...

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
