Matthew 25:31-33

Lesson # Matt. 25:31-33
Study Material - Matt. 25:31-33

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Matt. 25:31-33

31 When [de] [hotan] the Son [huios] of man [anthropos] shall come [erchomai] in [en] his [autos] glory [doxa] , and [kai] all [pas] the holy [hagios] angels [aggelos] with [meta] him [autos] , then [tote] shall he sit [kathizo] upon [epi] the throne [thronos] of his [autos] glory [doxa] :
32 And [kai] before [emprosthen] him [autos] shall be gathered [sunago] all [pas] nations [ethnos] : and [kai] he shall separate [aphorizo] them [autos] one [allelon] from [apo] another [allelon] , as [hosper] a shepherd [poimen] divideth [aphorizo] his sheep [probaton] from [apo] the goats [eriphos] :
33 And [kai] he shall set [histemi] [men] the sheep [probaton] on [ek] his [autos] right hand [dexios] , but [de] the goats [eriphion] on [ek] the left [euonumos] . KJV-Interlinear

Matt. 25:31-33

31 'But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 'And all the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left. NASB

There are three members of the Trinity - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Of these three, only the Son has the authority to judge, John 5:22-23, 'For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son, 23 in order that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.' NASB

Gods divine plan was designed in such a way, that no invention of philosophy or belief, of mankind, would be allowed to take the place of Gods plan. Man cannot design his own approach to God. Man cannot presume his ability to become acceptable to or even equal to God.

Many religions presume and treat God as an equal partner. They see God as someone with whom they may stand face to face with and discuss matters on an equal basis. Not so.

Mankind is far beneath God, and it is impossible for man to reach heaven by means of his own energy. We do not even know where heaven is! How could we possibly get there?

The certainty of mans end is stated in these next few verses. There will come a time when human history will end. We do not live in a universe where mankind will continue to 'evolve' to some higher plane of morality. We do not live in a universe where mankind will someday travel to the stars. Just to get to the nearest star would take us four years (one way) if we could travel at the speed of light. Today our rockets travel at about 7 miles per second. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second, plus. So our engines need to improve substantially.

Even if we could invent a space ship in the next hundred years, that would travel to the nearest star, what then? There is nothing out there. Do we just turn around and come home? There is nothing between our solar system (our nine planets) and the nearest star. The next nearest star is some ten light years away.

Our planets population is growing, or doubling in number, about every 30 years. We face some 50 billion people here on earth by the end of the century. And what of the next century? Four hundred billion? Do we live on Mars? Not a likely scenario.

At some point mankind will reach his limit. A point beyond which he cannot continue in existence. But God will not let that happen. Besides, man is not planning his own future, God has already done that for us. And we should be thankful, because left to our own devices, mankind will destroy himself.

The Bible is not a children's book. It is not a story that we read, nod our heads in agreement or disagreement with, and then turn our attentions to things of more importance (by our definition). The Bible teaches us what is true, and what our future really is, and what we need to do in order to prepare for our 'certain' future.

We all can look to investments, to our career improvements, to retirement, to this weekends social life, to the hobbies we enjoy, but none of these will prepare us for the inevitable.

There will come a day when Jesus Christ will sit on a judgment throne, and all peoples will be sorted out. Those who have believed in Christ (the sheep) to the right, and those who have not believed in Christ (the goats) to the left.

The only person, the unique person of the universe, Jesus Christ, will sit in judgment one day, and all who have looked to Him (having believed in Christ) will be spared from His wrath. Those who have defiantly looked away from Him, will suffer horribly. They will in fact get just what they have been asking for - total separation from God. God will grant them their request. It will not be what they expect.

There are very few certainties in life. They begin when you are born. Even your birth is not a certainty until God imputes the spark of life 'neshamah,' the breath of life, into your soul at the moment of your birth.

After your birth, you have but two possible destinies - the Lake of Fire, and heaven. Those are determined by the attitude you take concerning Jesus Christ. If you so choose for Christ, then you experience a second birth - a spiritual birth. In that moment, you receive a human spirit, and eternal life is imputed into it. You are now body (with biological life), soul (with human life), and spirit (with eternal life). The soul and spirit will continue forever. The physical body will be discarded one day, and replaced with a resurrection body which will last forever.

At the end of time you face an evaluation. As a believer there are blessings at stake, and they are based on the decisions you make during your life. As an unbeliever there is eternal condemnation. Beyond these certainties, everything else in life is relative, when you think about it!!

Well, there is Monday Night Football ..... but that is another study for another day.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
