Lesson # Rev. 15:3

Study Material - Rev. 15:3

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Rev. 15:3

3 And [kai] they sing [ado] the song [ode] of Moses [Moseus] the servant [doulos] of God [theos] , and [kai] the song [ode] of the Lamb [arnion] , saying [lego] , Great [megas] and [kai] marvellous [thaumastos] are thy [sou] works [ergon] , Lord [kurios] God [theos] Almighty [pantokrator] ; just [dikaios] and [kai] true [alethinos] are thy [sou] ways [hodos] , thou King [basileus] of saints [hagios] . KJV-Interlinear

3 And they sang the song of Moses the bond-servant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, 'Great and marvelous are Thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Thy ways, Thou King of the nations. NASB

Throughout the Tribulation, millions of believers in Christ will suffer horribly and die It is these that will sing the song of Moses, a song of victory.

The song of Moses, the first recorded song in the Old Testament, from Ex. 15, and the Song of the Lamb, Rev. 5, do not have the same words as these, but the theme of victory is similar.

The quick note from yesterdays study. Verse 2 ends with the word for God, 'Theos.' This means the ultimate deity, or the highest magistrate. It is used in contrast to the attitude of judgment that people make here on earth. Too often people will raise themselves above their fellow mankind. Dictators think themselves better than the common citizenry. Ruling organization membership consider themselves better than non-members. Those who gossip elevate their opinion above the privacy of others, and so forth. Then there is God - Theos, the ultimate authority.

Mankind might think himself able to rule and decide for self and others, but eventually everyone who subscribes to this attitude, fails in life. Even people who decide for themselves and against God, fail and prove that they cannot even choose the right priorities in life for themselves.

All this wrong decision process, results in violence of one form or another. Those who are the victims, those who are believers in Christ and find themselves martyrs, will rise up in heaven and they will not sing a song of sorrow, but of victory.

Note that the context here is for suffering and dying (while on earth) believers, who have gone to heaven. We know too that not all believers are faithful to God. Many will die because of their unfaithfulness. They are unfaithful (they don't study their Bibles) and therefore they do not follow Gods commands. There are also mature believers who will be martyred, as many of the evangelists of the Tribulation will no doubt be killed for their evangelism.

So in heaven there is a mixed bag of immature and mature believers, but all are singing the same song. This indicates that in heaven the learning and comprehension process for knowing truth will continue. You will not go to heaven and then stop learning, but you will most likely learn truth - very fast.

Just as the Israelites sang their song from a place of safety and deliverance, after they had crossed the Red Sea, and after the army of Pharaoh had been destroyed, so now these believers will sing their song in heaven, in a place of safety and security. Nothing on earth can now touch them. All the pain and suffering are now gone never to be repeated again, never.

The song extols Gods character as the omnipotent, immutable, sovereign, perfect, and righteous Creator and Judge and Ruler.

God ultimately controls history, and the question is asked point blank, 'Who will not fear?' And this question is the bottom line for everyone who has ever lived on this earth. Of all the things we face in life, the single most important challenge to everyone is to think about God and the repercussions of pursuing Him verses the repercussions of not pursuing Him in proper fashion.

There are a lot of things to be afraid of in life, but being afraid of God, and of losing what God has to offer should be the greatest fear that anyone has. The circumstances of this life are temporary at best. The blessings or cursings of God have eternal repercussions.

Great and wonderful are the works of God. Though mankind has architecture and a history of various civilizations, all the past ones have crumbled into ruins and are no more than vacation destination stops. God designed the universe and all that is in it. From the vast universe and its galaxies, to the infinitely small atomic and subatomic realm. He designed the animal life, the plant life, and such. God put together a plan for human history which brought you into this life, with a life, and gave you an opportunity to live forever in heaven. Your other alternative if you had never been born would be non-existence. In which case you would never have known or experienced anything.

God is the Lord God Almighty. Jesus Christ is the infinite resource and supplier of all things good. He is the ultimate authority and decision maker. In the Old Testament He is called, 'I Am' which carries the same connotation.

Gods ways are righteous (perfect, flawless, without any imperfections, without sin, without any defect of any kind). He is Justice, or the washing away or cleansing of all that is filth (sin).

He is the ultimate King, and apart from Him there is no other. All leaders on this earth are placed in their respective positions courtesy of God. They can either rule in accordance with Gods will or they can abuse (as most do) their authority which is God given. Too often those who would be leaders will see themselves as the final end and authority in their capacity of authority. Ruling without truth, they end up ruling in accordance with their own ego and self centered lusts. This eventually will result in the Tribulation which will be the quintessence of human self gratification resulting in failure after failure, atrocity after atrocity.

End of lesson.

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
