Dan. 7:9

Lesson # Dan. 7:9
Study Material - Dan. 7:9

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Dan. 7:9

9 'I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow, And the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire.

Daniel continued to view the vision and saw all the earthly thrones are set, which here means to be cast or established by another force. Men set themselves up or rather they see themselves as setting themselves up in positions of authority and power. God is really the one who directs the course of history placing all to whatever positions He sees fit, and removing them accordingly.

The flow of history is allowed to continue. 'Sit thou at my right hand until I make thy enemies a footstool of thy feet.'

Two factors of divine decrees enter into play here. God the Father in eternity past established a plan for human history, actually for all of history, even for angels. God the Son executes that plan. God the Holy Spirit reveals that plan. And second, man is allowed to function in history using his own independent volition to make his own decisions.

With authority comes accountability. Thus the books of heaven, the books of history, the books of evidence are opened on a continual basis and the court is in session.

Here is an awesome picture of heavens court. Thousands of thousands or here it is meant to picture a huge number, an immense or countless court staff who stand in attendance to the one on the throne - the judge. Surrounding the throne are even more millions of millions, or an even greater number standing as spectators. These are not the accused, nor the judged. This is a public court session. Nothing in heaven is carried out in secrecy.

Who sets on the throne, but the one who is ancient in days. The one who has existed longer than all. From eternity past, this reference it to God and God alone. Jesus Christ has been given all of judgment. He is the first and the last. The Father set the scene for history, and Jesus Christ executes that history deciding who will be born and when in history they will be born. Also, He decides their life span right down to the last nanosecond of their last breath.

His robes white as the driven snow - righteousness plus justice creating Gods perfect Holiness. God is pure and perfect, and in Him is found no flaw, no default, no sin, no impurity. So much for the other so called Allah's, Buddha's, and such of the world. They are false gods. Only the one perfect and pure God sits on the throne.

Gods hair is as wool. Short for his authority. White for the pressure and the price He paid for the right to sit in judgment. Jesus Christ went to the Cross and bore our sins there. The whiteness of the hair stands for the intense pressure or stress of judgment He would endure at the Cross. All persons who have extreme pressure find that their hair turns white or gray due to the stresses of life. Christ lived through the most intense stress of anyone in history.

From the throne originated a brilliance of fire and flame, in Revelation, thunder and lightening. Out from the throne comes authority and power and dominion over all of creation. Above this throne there is no higher authority or power. Beneath this throne stand the thrones of earth, all lessor thrones whose times are limited and cast by God and God alone.

The throne is mobile, with wheels of burning fire. Gods throne reaches all corners of the universe. There is nowhere that God cannot go. There is no place that can hide or get away from the judgment throne of God.

One has to wonder at just what Daniel thought as he viewed these events and scenes. He wondered and pondered ad 'kept on looking.' His eyes were fixed with intense focus on all that was taking place before his own eyes. Heaven holds far greater activities of interest than does anything on earth.

Daniel did not conjure these images up in his own mind. They were placed there, in his mind, by God. Jesus Christ controls history. There is nothing in history that does not happen without Gods prior knowledge. There is nothing that will happen without Gods permission. God placed man in the sea of this world and let loose their volition's, but within boundaries. God directs mans efforts giving beginnings and ends to all of mans actions in order to protect those who would choose for God and a future in heaven. Those who choose against God would destroy themselves and everyone else if they were not constrained in some fashion.

These words are written to encourage those who are positive toward God. There was a beginning and there will be an end. There will be an accounting for all in history, and a deliverance for all who choose for God.

Encouragement is the issue here. Regardless of the powers on earth which may affect our everyday life, there is an overriding power in heaven in whose court justice never ceases. On earth injustices prevail. In heaven justice overrules all.

Many of us have lost loved ones over the years and have, of course grieved over their loss, but we need to know that in heaven, those whom we have lost, are witnesses to far greater events in history than we can only begin to imagine. We may be sad here for their loss, but if they could be sad, it would be because they have left us behind in far worse conditions than they currently have. They sit in awe no doubt as the proceedings of heaven unfold with perfect control, order, and accuracy in fact, and in perfect confidence that all will be well on earth, for those whom they have left behind. We too need to learn that all will be well for our own lives, as we eek out our existence from day to day. Stick with your daily Bible study and there is nothing in the universe that can take you away from the protection of God.
