Dan. 7:11-12

Lesson # Dan. 7:11-12
Study Material - Dan. 7:11-12

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Dan. 7:11-12

11 'Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire. 12 'As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.

Daniel continued watching the unfolding of history and heard the boasting of the horn. Despite the overwhelming authority and power of God, evil people, arrogant people will still boast. They are full of words which carry no meaning except for the impressing of other peoples who are equally or more so ignorant and naive. People who lack wisdom are easily impressed by false philosophies.

The horn with full knowledge of God, and his (the horn) own place in history, will place his lusts and desires ahead of, the will of God. This is true of all peoples. There is no one who lacks knowledge of God, if they have been on this earth for any reasonable amount of time. Yet people will voluntarily and openly and sometimes defiantly, ignore God and His Word. Negative people see themselves as triumphant when they are not immediately faced with correction from God, Deu. 32:27. They are never satisfied. They are grumblers, argumentative, they distort fact. They debate lies even in the face of overwhelming truth. Lets see, a good example of this type of behavior would probably be smokers, or those who deny the need of a good diet (a little too much weight???), anyone who pursues escapes from reality by means of drugs or booze, and so forth. So it is with ones rejection of Bible study. What is the need? Or so goes the argument or excuse.

The fourth beast was slain - Rome, but some (the ten horns, the continued influence and expansion of the Roman influence) continued for a time (our Church Age history or our Western Civilization history) until their time was terminated. Rome of old will disappear from history as it did along about the fourth century A.D., but these ten horns will continue and develop until they will be ready to turn their power over to the one single horn, the anti-christ who will rise up in the end by means of destroying three of the horns.

Just a quick review of Rev. 17:12-13. These ten horns are not yet in existence. John wrote this in 96 A.D. So these ten horns were future to Rome. Next these ten horns were given power for only one purpose, and that is to give power to the single horn who will rise up in that end time.

Second, we know that during this Church Age, that the Royal Family or the Bride of Christ are being assembled. When we are complete in our number then history will see the Rapture and our removal from earth. Simultaneously with the assembly of the ten horns are being defined in history. That is the history for that past 2000 years as man moved from East to West across the globe. This overall time frame is undefined for us, but in Gods plan there is a specific time frame, an appointed period. When the Rapture occurs, these ten horns will exist for but a brief time. Three will be defiant and they will be defeated by the little eleventh horn. The remainder (seven years) of the Age of Israel will be allowed to continue and conclude. That Age, of which Daniel was a part, will at that time have seven years remaining.

When we get to Daniel's '70 weeks' prophecy in chapter nine, we will go into more detail. But briefly there are three dispensations in review here. The Age of Israel which will continue through the First Advent of Christ and then be interrupted by the Church Age at the Feast of Pentecost following the Cross, leaving just seven years remaining in the Age of Israel. The Church Age will continue with an unspecified duration until its conclusion at the Rapture, then the Age of Israel will continue and conclude its last remaining seven years with the Second Advent of Christ. See the dispensations chart on the Index page.

Note, that the next verse, verse 13, in this chapter is not the rapture nor the second advent. More on that tomorrow. Test question?? Who are the 'clouds' going with the Son of Man toward heaven. No, not angels. Try again.

Anyway, throughout history man has had full knowledge of God and the repercussions of ignoring God. Even Enoch who was in the seventh generation from Adam, and long before the flood, spoke of Gods judgment on all evil, Jude 15, and what whiners and grumblers negative people really are. They are never satisfied. Taking always, never giving and distorting whatever good they do as from themselves and from their own ego and never to the credit of God.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
