Ecclesiastes 5:2-3

Lesson # Eccl. 5:2-3
Study Material - Eccl. 5:2-3

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Eccl. 5:2-3

2 Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God. For God is in heaven and you are on the earth; therefore let your words be few. 3 For the dream comes through much effort, and the voice of a fool through many words.

We guard our spiritual life more closely than we would guard Fort Knox if we had the title to that property and its contents. Our spiritual life is the most important possession we will ever have - ever.

We do not play games with God either. Why would you want to cheat on your self anyway? Because that is exactly what you would be doing if you chose to twiddle your life away on 'better deals.'

A person who has insecurity, who has little or no mental assets with which to conduct a discussion, will throw words out in hopes of overwhelming others with their baffling lingo. Speak first, think second, if at all. This is not a good approach to life.

A spiritually inclined person will do well to think first and conduct discussions in an orderly and rational manner - especially with God (in prayer). Our discussions with God are through our prayer, and our Bible studies. He communicates to us through His written word, and we with Him through our application of what we learn while in fellowship.
If you have not figured it out by now, the place of residence where you must be in living your spiritual life is in fellowship. That is the place of refuge, of security, of blessing, of happiness, the Holy ground on which we must stand when in the presence of God.

Remember your place. We are creatures. God is the deity. We are the dust. He is the creator. We have innumerable limitations. God is without limit in all things. We as human beings need to know our place in order to begin our proper orientation to life. If we get too beyond ourselves in our attitude toward life, toward God, if we over think our abilities as a human race (ie., we can rise up to be equal with God one day), then we are on the wrong course and our life will be doomed and miserable.

We are creatures without portfolio. We are the students. God is the master or instructor, if you will. We need to know our place and then sit back and learn His wisdom. Which wisdom, by the way, far surpasses all things (all other wisdom's).

So, still the lips, still the attitude, and listen, and learn, and grow up in life, especially the spiritual life. Then we will have that land of milk and honey at our disposal. The dreams that you thought you would never see, will change into dreams consistent with Gods will for your life and those dreams will come true.

In contrast, there are dreams of those who ignore God, ignore the Christian life, ignore anything but themselves, and those dreams are in verse 3. These dreams are of confusion. Dreams are based on ones soul content. If your soul lacks Bible doctrine and doctrinal orientation, then you will tend to dream up things of lust, of disorder, of desires that will never occur in a rational life. Wishes never come true.

Wishes become more elaborate as we get more engrossed in our dreams (wishes). As dreams become more elaborate, they become more detached from reality. Some people become distracted by their dreams. The nightly dreams become day dreams, and interfere with our daily responsibilities. Some people become attached in their dreams and this leads to innumerable disorders in life and eventually trouble. The efforts f dreams may begin in a relaxing fashion, but the effort increases as dreams begin to take over ones life.

These of course are the unhealthy patterns of dreams that are influenced by the lack of Bible doctrine in the life. Some people have little mental disorders in life. In other examples we recently saw a video, on the news, of this Usama fellow interpreting dreams of some of his admirers, and that is a good example of a really sick group of people. On a lessor scale, you can have problem dreams. And those problems are directly connected to your lack of consistency in Bible study. These dreams will contribute to your uneasiness and insecurities of life.

Now from dreams to the mouth. Both are driven by the content of the soul. If you dream, only you and God know of your soul state. If you talk with endless chatter in nothingness, then all will know of your state of soul. You cannot fool God, so why try with some sort of ego driven speech that might impress many ignorant people, but will only draw Gods wrath on yourself?

Your spiritual life is the most important possession you will ever have in your life. Many people play games with their spiritual life, without even thinking about it. Most disregard the value of their spiritual life in apathy.

Your spiritual life does not limit you from doing anything in life that you would normally do. That is legitimate things, not criminal things. You can play the harp, climb the mountain, drive the race car, push the broom, change the diaper, invent the rocket. Whatever it is you do in life, you will be blessed and you will do even better (guaranteed) at your task, and without any extra effort, if you stick with your spiritual studies.

Ignore them (your spiritual studies) and the jungle will rule your success, and you will always, always lose in the end.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
