Exodus 1:22

Lesson # Exodus 1:22
Study Material - Exodus 1:22

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Ex. 1:22

2 Then Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, 'Every son who is born you are to cast into the Nile, and every daughter you are to keep alive.'

Without Bible doctrine in ones life, plots and treachery are inevitable. Guidance of treachery is by means of arrogance. We see this in our current day, the treachery displayed by the rulers of Afghanistan. There the country has disintegrated into gross immorality from years of war. Women are treated as lower than animals, being beaten for little more than walking out alone. A soccer stadium was used for executions (on a regular basis). Agriculture was next to nothing, except for poppies and drug production. Freedoms do not exist.

Certainly there was no liberty in much of any form. The rulers have assumed their right to disrupt the world. Virtually every other word that proceeds out of their collective mouths is hypocrisy, lies, deception, double talk. Millions of Afghans are slaves to those who were not even born in the country. There is no education, no science, no technology, no innovation, no independent thought. They were living under the tyranny that has virtually stopped their economy, destroyed the roads, and offers no public policy other than the spreading of violence world wide.

In Egypt, things are not so bad. At least there was an economy, education, science, a great military power, construction, and commerce. The nation was prosperous. Yet despite all this, there still existed terrible wrongs. Pharaoh, though the leader of a great nation, was still jealous of a group of peoples who were foreigners, or considered as still foreigners even after four centuries.

Here in the USA, our country has existed for over two centuries. We look at foreigners as those persons who have come over to visit in recent days, or months, even just a few past years. Certainly if a people had been here for four centuries they were no longer considered foreigners. If that were true, then 99% of us would still be in the foreign category, and the native Indians would be the citizens. But then even the Indians came from elsewhere at some point in the distant past. So where and when do you draw the line for citizenship.

All of the living Israelites had been born in Egypt, still they were not citizens. There, that privilege, was highly prejudiced against them. So much so now that Pharaoh's various plans for slowing down the growth rate of the Israelites have all failed, he turns to violence in a more overt fashion. And coincidentally at an appropriate time. Right during the last generation that was to leave Egypt.

If the one to deliver them was to be born and then die in the river, then Gods promise to Abraham, that the Israelites would be in and then out of slavery after 400 years, would fail, and Satan would have his victory against God. But Satan cannot control history. Satan cannot control the minds of people. He can try to influence people and often is very successful, but it is impossible to control all of the people all of the time. If you have ever been involved in some sort of committee, or social club, or politics, or just in a family decision, then you know that controlling people voluntarily is difficult. Even the application of pressure does not make people think in the same manner.

So Pharaoh wishes to destroy all the new born males. We will see that neither Pharaoh, nor the Taliban (Afghanistan) can control history and that their evil will eventually be met with justice. Sometimes man will be the instrument of delivering that justice. Sometimes God delivers it when man doesn't have the where-with-all to do the job.

Pharaoh is powerful. He has a military behind him. He has a prosperous nation. He seemingly has endless resources. He is out in the open and fears nothing.

In contrast, those folks in Afghanistan had a gang of thieves they call their army. They have no economy. They steal from the citizens. They hide behind the civilian population. They hide behind the veiled skirts of the women they mistreat. They hide in caves. They hide behind their false religion. They offer nothing constructive for the country, or society for that matter. They rule to serve only their own selfish interests. Thugs in a poor neighborhood.

God gave Moses ten plagues. God has given us smart bombs. Note that probably neither will be the ultimate end of the bad guys. Egypt though they gave in under the pressure of the plagues, were not finally defeated until the parting of the sea. One wonders what event will be the undoing of the terrorists in this world. Perhaps they will die of heart failure, or suffocate in a collapsed cave. Perhaps they will go on for decades if that is in Gods plan for human history and the shaping of nations.

What Moses was commanded is what we too should do. Stand fast and watch for Gods deliverance. Right and wrong were clear in Moses' time, just as it is clear in our time. Moses had to deal with bleeding hearts, 'Let us stay in Egypt', just as we too have our cowards in our present society. Who will win the leadership?

We have an opportunity to observe the unfolding before us, of history, that will probably change the shape of many things in our lives. We can learn Bible doctrine and watch Gods plan unfold, or we can ignore God and get worried about tainted mail (bad chemicals sent through the mail). Jesus Christ controls history. We can either stand in His palace (fellowship) and watch Him direct it, or we can stand out in the jungle and be consumed by it.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
