Exodus 3:9-11

Lesson # Exodus 3:9-11
Study Material - Exodus 3:9-11

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Ex. 3:9-11

9 And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me; furthermore, I have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them. 10 Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt.' 11 But Moses said to God, 'Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?'

God is the eternal fountain of power who has appointed Pharaoh to his throne, and now will dismiss him. God is the fountain of power that made Moses the Prince of Egypt after escaping certain death as an infant, by removing him from that position and made him ruler over sheep rather than the nation of Egypt. And now Moses has been trained and is called once again for his next job, the deliverance of Gods message to Pharaoh.

God could certainly do all Himself and without Moses' participation, but that would serve no purpose. God has many tools with which to serve His will. Here He will use the actions of Moses to indirectly communicate to Pharaoh His will.

God remembers all His promises. The Hebrews are going to be given the opportunity to exchange bondage for liberty, poverty for plenty, labor for rest, and the precarious condition of tenants for the ease of proprietors.

There is nothing that will take God by surprise. He saw all of history in eternity past. He saw all thoughts, and actions that everyone in history would exercise, and knowing this He made provision at the appropriate time for everyone. And this point is important, because whatever your situation might happen to be right now in your life, it could change very easily from wealth to poverty and visa versa in the blink of an eye.

In times past we all thought of disaster as a car accident or a storm or something like that, but now you can't even sniff those perfumed advertisements you get in the mail lest you get something worse up your nose.

It has been over 400 years that God has waited for the Hebrews to repent of their ways, and simultaneously for the peoples of Canaan to decline to their lowest levels. Both conditions have occurred in this same generation.

There is one more aspect to this passage, verse 11. 'Who am I...' Some 40 years ago, Moses was of the opinion that it was he who would bring better times to the Hebrews, his own people. He was steering history in the wrong direction. It was history according to Egypt. God had a different picture of history, a better one for the nation. The Hebrews were to become an independent nation, not just another group of people within the borders of a foreign nation. Regardless of how good or bad their situation might become. Their destiny was not under Pharaoh, but under God.

Our destiny is not from this world, but it is tied up in our knowledge of Bible doctrine, which directs and determines our spiritual life.

Moses has changed his attitude. Once he was the Prince of Egypt with influence. Now he is but a shepherd, upon whom no one will look for advice. People are superficial for the most part. God uses the very simple to build stumbling blocks for those who would be wise in their own eyes.

Too often if you do not have a degree, a certificate, a license, a title, a silver background of some sort, then you are just not considered as having much of anything to say that could possibly make a difference in this world. Before Moses was perplexed as to why the Hebrews who were fighting would reject him. Now Moses in perplexed as to why God would want to use him to do the very thing that he wanted to do after so long a time. God does have a sense of humor to be sure. Ever wonder what God thinks is funny about your life? Let alone use you for something in this world?

God does not depend on weapons to fulfill His plans, He works without regard to human means. The battle is the Lords!

There is no such thing as a hopeless situation for the person who is positive toward Gods Word.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
