Exodus 7:20-25

Lesson # Exodus 7:20-25
Study Material - Exodus 7:20-25

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Ex. 7:20-25

20 So Moses and Aaron did even as the LORD had commanded. And he lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the Nile, in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the Nile was turned to blood. 21 And the fish that were in the Nile died, and the Nile became foul, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. And the blood was through all the land of Egypt. 22 But the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret arts; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said. 23 Then Pharaoh turned and went into his house with no concern even for this. 24 So all the Egyptians dug around the Nile for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the Nile. 25 And seven days passed after the LORD had struck the Nile.

By the way, we are studying Exodus until we get to the crossing of the Red Sea. Then we will continue on in our rotation through the Bible to the next book in our study.

Moses and Aaron heard the command and they carried it out accordingly. They added nothing to it, nor took anything away from what God intended. Nothing was forced on Pharaoh prior to his refusal of their request.

The Hebrews had every right to leave Egypt. Pharaoh had no right to detain them. He had no ownership rights over any other person, let alone an entire nation. But then life in the jungle follows the rules of the jungle, and over those rules, man really has no control. Man may think he can manipulate the jungle. Man may be fooled by short term successes. But man inevitably reaches the end of his life, and through death discovers that all he has done or tried to do, is a waste of time, Psa. 39:6+.

Everything in creation is relative. God can make a stick a snake, water becomes blood, or wine. In the beginning, nothing existed, and out of nothing, God created all that is. Science states that energy can be neither created nor destroyed. It merely changes forms in various ways. But in theology this is rejected. God has the power to do whatever He wills. He speaks and the universe comes into existence. Likewise by his word, anything may be changed to something totally dissimilar to its original state.

People who have no use for truth will do what Pharaoh did. They turn their back on the problem as well as their responsibility, and allow their subordinates suffer. For seven days the nation had no water. The air was filled with the stench of dead animals, as well as unwashed people to be sure.

Pharaoh looked at the magnitude of the plague. The entire water supply of Egypt was soured. He looked at the small magic of his magicians, probably a pitcher of water was changed (not really changed but by illusion appeared to be changed) and equated the two. If indeed the magicians could duplicate what God had done, then they could reverse the plague for the entire country and clean up the stink. Of course they could not.

What do negative people do? They take dissimilar things and equate them in their own mind. They never see fault in themselves. They have no concern with regard to doing whatever they wish in life, ignoring the consequences to others. Negative people (toward God) are selfish, self centered people. Sometimes little tests like the snake test will convince them that they need to change their ways. Sometimes it takes a greater test, something that hurts them personally, before they come to realize their arrogance needs to fixed in their lives. Sometimes they never change and when they are in positions of authority, then many others get hurt.

The water changed for seven days. Too short to be blamed from the spring floods which usually lasts several months. It was not even spring, but late fall or possibly winter, when the water flow is low. So nature could not have plated a part in the change. Even the stored water in peoples homes changed, so river currents and ground water changes could not have changed stored water inside homes. The only explanation would be from a higher power, one higher than Pharaoh, one higher than the Egyptian gods.

That power being, 'I Am, The Lord.' There is only one God. All others are false and fake and worthless. There is only one truth in life, and anything else is a prescription to misery and doom. Negative people trust in their own ability, their hustle, their wealth , Psa. 49:6. They ridicule others for their lack of ability or for their failures. They ridicule anyone (Aha, aha!, Psa. 35, 40, 70) perceived as beneath them. They gloat in their wit over others.

Sooner or later they will not be laughing.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
