Eze. 38:20

20 So that the fishes [dag] of the sea [yam], and the fowls [`owph] of the heaven [shamayim], and the beasts [chay] of the field [sadeh], and all creeping things [remes] that creep [ramas] upon the earth ['adamah], and all the men ['adam] that are upon the face [paniym] of the earth ['adamah], shall shake [ra`ash] at my presence [paniym], and the mountains [har] shall be thrown down [harac], and the steep places [madregah] shall fall [naphal], and every wall [chowmah] shall fall [naphal] to the ground ['erets]. KJV-Interlinear

20 And the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all the creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains also will be thrown down, the steep pathways will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground. NASB

When Gods judgment enters into ones life, on that day, terror and fright can be an overwhelming and unbelievable thing. Because on that day, a person knows that this is the end of his life here on the earth. If one has not pursued their spiritual life, then their eternity will be far less than they could have had. Their rewards for eternity (which is a very long time) may very well be non-existent.

Once gone from this life, there is no way to recover. The spending of ones life in self pity, in blaming others, in complaining, in focusing on the things of life, in doing whatever one does, so as to create an excuse for ones self, finally comes to an end and the discovery of this futile approach to life becomes apparent once one has left it.

Sometimes life end is a private event. Sometimes life s end is a very public event. Sometimes, as at the end of the Second Advent, the entire world knows of Gods hand in that end.

Here the animals, the unintelligent creatures of the world know of the terror of history s end. All of the things that man looks to in awe, such as tall mountains, tall buildings, manmade innovations, inventions and objects of every type, all of these will feel the power of Gods judgment.

Mountains will explode and collapse into mere piles of rubble. Buildings, sky scrappers, bridges, architecture of man s imagination and pride, will shatter into worthless piles of ruin.

We have all seen either on television or perhaps first hand, the aftermath destruction of a storm, a terrorist attack, a bombing and so forth. Buildings, roads, vehicles, public service utilities such as phone, gas or power services, are all destroyed or rendered unusable.

Far too often people will live through a disaster and they will never wake up to the reasons behind the disaster. They refuse to acknowledge their helplessness to such disasters, which generally result from relatively small storms. After so many disasters in history, people simply think that they can recover from anything and move on with their unchanged life. Just clean up the mess, collect the insurance money, and repurchase or rebuild. It is just bad luck, that can happen to anyone!

People look at life through the eyes of man, and generally, they do not consider the view from the eyes of God. So they never wake up.

Then finally, at the end of human history, God shakes up the entire world, all at once. Even the animals scatter in fear, and animals, when compared to humanity, aren t supposed to be too bright.

But humanity will be able to look around and see all that he held near and dear to his own heart, all that he boasted and bragged about, all that he used in his life to create an atmosphere of his self importance, all of this will be taken away in a single day.

When a person dies, he loses all that he has. His accumulations, his implacable attitudes, his self-important attitudes, all come to nothing. And, he learns rather quickly that this was all a huge waste of ones time.

Life is intended to be a preparation period where each person can get ready for eternity and a huge successful life that is to come. Most folks get caught up in the meaningless standards that the world throws at them, overstating the things of this life and ignoring the principles of the spiritual life.

Their spiritual life becomes secondary (if at all) and their temporal life becomes their primary concern. So we become proud of the things of this world, the things we have, the things we want. People even go so far as to cause harm to others in order to get what they want or just to get even.

In the Tribulation, Gods restraint will have been withdrawn from the world and man s inclinations will be to abuse life to the maximum. Thus, all of life will end up in man s near self-destruction. Only Jesus Christ will save humanity. Man will certainly not save himself. Humanity has no unique self-restraint with which to control his own existence. Humanity will not even have the ability to recognize that his own actions are self-destructive.

This will be true at the end of the Tribulation, and it is true in the individual lives of people who reject God and their spiritual life.

People tend to take themselves too seriously, they make the things that they own, more important than other people s lives, and certainly their own spiritual life, and so God will, in one very short day (or hour, or minute), destroy all of the things that have held man s attention and fascination throughout history.

This happens, for the individual, at the end of ones life, and it certainly will happen at the end of the Tribulation for all of humanity.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
