Eze. 39:7-8

7 So will I make my holy [qodesh] name [shem] known [yada`] in the midst [tavek] of my people [`am] Israel [Yisra'el]; and I will not let them pollute [chalal] my holy [qodesh] name [shem] any more: and the heathen [gowy] shall know [yada`] that I am the LORD [Yahovah], the Holy One [qadowsh] in Israel [Yisra'el].

8 Behold, it is come [bow'], and it is done [hayah], saith [na'um] the Lord ['Adonay] GOD [Yahovih]; this is the day [yowm] whereof I have spoken [dabar]. KJV-Interlinear

7 And My holy name I shall make known in the midst of My people Israel; and I shall not let My holy name be profaned anymore. And the nations will know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Behold, it is coming and it shall be done, declares the Lord GOD. That is the day of which I have spoken. NASB

The Day of the Lord, has many different meanings in the scriptures, but the Second Advent, is the most pronounced and the most dramatic of them all.

For on that day, all evil will cease from the world. All religion, all philosophies invented by man, all beliefs which rely on lies and deceit, all of these and much, much more, will cease to exist.

However many people, who will remain alive in the world at the time of the Second Advent, a very small percentage, probably a very small fraction of a percentage, will survive the Second Advent, and will become the seed population for the Millennium. How many people will that be? We can only guess. Perhaps, dozens, perhaps hundreds, perhaps thousands, only God knows the number.

I am guessing that the number of survivors will be large. This will give tremendous glory to the Lord, simply because the world will have been in such turmoil, that it will be a literal miracle that anyone survives at all, let alone many thousands.

You can apply this principle to your own life. It is a miracle, that you have lived as long as you have. We call this miracle grace.

None of us are very smart, when you come right down to it. And I am sure that you have seen other folks, whom you consider as living on the edge of dumb, and you wonder just how they make it in life. The answer again is grace.

Were it not for Gods grace, none of us would be here.

Today in this world, there are lots of people and organizations, who would keep the name of God from being spread to the general public. There is a good deal of anti-Christian or anti-God rhetoric in the schools, in politics, even in the courts, and of course, there is a great deal of anti-Christian attitudes in society around the world. All of this leads to trouble for humanity, and it will be the leading cause for mans near self-destruction in the Tribulation.

But, once Christ has returned, He will obliterate all the lies and false doctrines of the world. Only truth will survive into the Millennium. And, all of the people who live in the Millennium, will know it.

Needless to say, all survivors of the Second Advent, will be mature believers in Christ. You will not find any other religious followers alive, anywhere on the planet. Their god did not come to save them.

God closes this verse with a definite conclusion. This history has been written, and this is the history of mans future. God did not cause it. He only reveals what man will do to himself.

God will, one last time, save humanity from his own destruction. Throughout history, God has come to the aid of mankind. In wars, in diseases, in many times of troubles, when man has gotten himself into trouble, either by ignorance or by defiance toward truth, God inevitably comes to bail us out.

Certainly, we have to live through the trouble, and many suffer as a result, but hat suffering is generally a good thing. Suffering is a good, perhaps the best instructor or educator we can have. Often times we have to hurt, before we wake up to the realities of life.

And, if that time of hurting comes into your life, and if you are still alive, then you should give your thanks that God has given you, yet another chance, to get your act together. It is only after you have died that your chances have run out.

Learn the truth of life and learn it fast. There is a God, and you are not Him. There is a path to God and Christ is that path. You cannot discover God or the path to Him without Christ in your life. There is a truth, and Bible doctrine is the means of learning that truth. There is a universe, vast and beyond imagination. There is a nothing, and that is what you see in the mirror.

Learn your place and then ask, Why, would God give this universe and more, to a bunch of nothings?

For that answer, you really need to grow up in your spiritual life, and then it will be perfectly clear.

There is nothing you can do to earn or deserve anything in life, including life itself. All things come to us by means of grace.

God is holy. Holiness is the combination of His perfect righteousness and His perfect justice. God is righteous, perfect in every way. God cannot have any relationship with anything or anyone, unless His justice, which is a cleansing, has washed their filth away. All of our sins, all of our human good, is filth and must be removed before we can have any kind of a relationship with God.

God, the Father, knows that man will try to invent ways of getting to Him. These ways are all collectively called, religion. So God laid out a plan to discredit religion. He created a path to Himself and that path must go through His one and only Son, Jesus Christ.

Why? Because Gods plan is dependent on His own work, and not on the efforts of mankind. Gods efforts are perfect and fair. Mans efforts are filled with bias, hypocrisy, prejudice, and most of all, arrogance.

God created but one means of growing up spiritually, through the study of His Word, while in fellowship and under the power of the Holy Spirit.

Mankind can learn of his world, of this universe, of our environment through academic means, but the spiritual world is not of this temporal world and consequently it is beyond mans reach of discovery.

These are the fundamental truths of life. There is a great deal more. You have but one way to learn and that is through a consistent daily study of the Bible. You won t learn it all in one night, in one weekend, even in one year. It will take you a lifetime to learn, and even then, you will discover that your learning will only scratch the surface of Gods knowledge, it is so vast.

Mans history is certain. You will not be able to change any of it. But, you can change your own personal life and future, by committing yourself to a daily study of the Word of God. Be counted among the winners and get with your spiritual life, otherwise, you will be counted with the losers of life.

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
