Eze. 39:21-22

21 And I will set [nathan] my glory [kabowd] among the heathen [gowy], and all the heathen [gowy] shall see [ra'ah] my judgment [mishpat] that I have executed [`asah], and my hand [yad] that I have laid [suwm] upon them.

22 So the house [bayith] of Israel [Yisra'el] shall know [yada`] that I am the LORD [Yahovah] their God ['elohiym] from that day [yowm] and forward [halaah]. KJV-Interlinear

21 And I shall set My glory among the nations; and all the nations will see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them. 22 And the house of Israel will know that I am the LORD their God from that day onward. NASB

The nations, refers to the many different peoples that inhabit the earth. Typically referred to as the gentiles as opposed to the Jews, this indicates definitely that there will be survivors from the many nations around the world. The survivors are not restricted to the Jewish people who have believed in Christ. There will be many people who have believed in Christ, who have grown up spiritually, and who have endured and survived the great hardships of the Tribulation.

In the Millennium there will be only one nation, that of Christ s Kingdom. The citizens of that nation will be believers only. All unbelievers, as of the last moment of Armageddon, will be dead. No unbelievers will survive the Tribulation.

But, out from around the world, mature believers, probably under weight, and haggard from the stresses of their recent life, will begin coming out of their hiding places and beginning their march to Jerusalem.

From all over the world, people will be making their way to Christ. They will see His glory from around the world. Recall that when evening sets on that day of His return, following the total destruction of all the evil forces, the sun will not set, the moon will not rise, the stars will not appear. No more night, no more day.

In fact, when the total darkness sets across the world, immediately prior to the Second Advent of Christ, that will be the last that anyone will ever see the sun again. The light of Christ s glory will be the only light that will appear with His return, and that is the light that will continue for the next one-thousand years.

All nations will see His glory, and no ones else s. All nations, and we are referring to the survivors here, will head toward Christ.

As they hid, and now as they travel, they will see the extent of His judgment. The world will be full of obliteration. It will be so dramatic, that it is actually beyond description. I suppose if you recall some of the worst grim scenes from that tsunami of a couple of years ago, then if you apply that description to the entire world, you would have a pretty good picture of what things will look like. Death everywhere, no buildings standing and such, would be a pretty good picture.

The aftermath will be a stunning picture, and stunning is probably not a strong enough word to describe it all.

God provides evidence of His existence, evidence of His grace, evidence of His power and so forth, but the general population of the world just doesn t seem to be impressed. So, the world pursues its own course through time, chasing after its opinions, its pleasures, its goals, pretty much ignoring that there is a God and there is a definite plan for humanity.

People define their own god and they define just what is acceptable or desirable, and what is not. They in effect live their life in the darkest fog, never seeing the light of Gods truth, or the truth of what is really going on in the world, or of where they are actually headed.

So, when God removes the sun, it won t really change anything. Folks don t use it anyway. In the fullest of daylight, people cannot see.

That is until the entire world has been thoroughly destroyed. And then, those who have rejected God, Christ, and truth, won t be around anyway.

The last battle will be the last great hammering on the head of obstinate humanity. Refusal and defiance toward truth to the maximum, has to be dealt with by the application of maximum violence in judgment.

That is a good principle to remember, in case you might want to slip away from your Bible Study.

The house of Israel, here has a dual meaning. Israel was the name given to Jacob.

Sometimes his descendants are referred to as the house of Jacob, usually referring to his genetic descendants, and sometimes the house of Israel term is used in this way, too. Likewise, the house of Israel is a reference to Gods nation. Gods nation, includes all believers of all nations, throughout all of history. So it has a general meaning to the spiritual house of people, who have believed in Christ, and is not restricted to the genetic.

So, in our verse, we have a reference to both categories of peoples. The first tells us that there will be believers from all over the world, and the second tells us that there will be many Jewish people who will survive the Tribulation, not because they are Jewish, but because they have believed in Christ, and advanced to spiritual maturity. Judaism will not be their religion. All religions will no longer exist.

Christianity is a relationship with God, through Christ. Christianity is not a religion. Religions pursue God through the efforts, invention, and imagination of man. Christianity receives a relationship with God through the work of God, Jesus Christ, and from no other source.

Today, tomorrow, and for all time, people have ample opportunity to get their spiritual lives in order. Most don t. History will continue by the grace of God, until all of His plans have been completed.

For the individual this means their life font will continue until the moment of their death. Or for our dispensation, this means that the Church Age will continue until the total number, predetermined by God, of believers for our era, will be complete. Simultaneously with that, the nations, technology, everything you can imagine will come to the point of readiness for the Rapture and the beginning of the Tribulation.

Once that last person has believed in Christ, then the power switch of history will be thrown, the Rapture will occur, and the next phase of history will begin. Recall our study in Revelation 1.

From there, nearly seven years will pass before humanity will totally destroy everything on his own.

We are not a world of creatures operating independently from the universe, determining our own destiny, but we are all a part of a much larger spiritual history.

The limits of our life should give us all clues that there is something more out there. More than just growing up, getting an education, a career, a retirement, and then resting on the porch.

It won t be until the very end of the Tribulation, that there will be a universal recognition of Christ as Lord. Don t wait until the end of your life, before you come to that same conclusion.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
