Genesis 1:24-25

24 And God [elohiym] said [amar], Let the earth [erets] bring forth [yatsa'] the living [chay] creature [nephesh] after his kind [miyn], cattle [bahemah], and creeping thing [remes], and beast [chay] of the earth [erets] after his kind [miyn]: and it was so.
25 And God [elohiym] made [asah] the beast [chay] of the earth [erets] after his kind [miyn], and cattle [bahemah] after their kind [miyn], and every thing that creepeth [remes] upon the earth [adamah] after his kind [miyn]: and God [elohiym] saw [ra'ah] that it was good [towb]. KJV-Interlinear

24 Then God said, 'Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind'; and it was so. 25 And God made the beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good. NASB

Day six is the number of man, and it brings the climax to the restoration of the earth. But first on the agenda come the animals of the land. The word for land here is 'erets', which is not planet earth, but refers to the land, the soil, as distinguished from the water.

Land animals did not evolve from marine life. Nor did one kind of animal form the beginning of other species. All species of animals were created simultaneously, and instantly populated the earth.

God further clarifies, that which is deity and that which is not. Often throughout history and even in our current day, animals are held out as being sacred. One group or another, might worship birds, or bears, or lions, or cattle and so forth. The worship of nature in general is taboo. God, the one and only God, Jesus Christ, created all of these creatures. God is the one to be worshiped, not animals, not birds, not fish, not astronomical bodies in outer space. None of these have the ability to control or sustain anything in life, let alone create it.

Out of the land came animals, forming biological life. Life that lives and then dies. Biological life comes into existence and then disappears from existence. So we have the revelation of the certainty of terminal events. There is a time to live and a time to die. Everything in this world will come to an end, and we are herein reminded from the animal kingdom, that death is a definite end. That there is something greater out there, than us. To seek divine revelation from a stone, or animal is pure nonsense.

Each kind of animal was made after its own kind and given the ability to continue itself through reproduction.

God distinguishes all forms of life from himself, certainly, but from mankind as well. Only man will have a connection to God in a form of sorts, but that is discussed in verse 26. Man is also distinguished from the animal life on this planet.

To date only lower forms of life have been created. First the planet was prepared without life, empty and worthless. Then plant life, then the sea life and bird life, then land animals. Each was distinguished from the other to make certain that we understood that they did not come from each other in an evolutionary format of development. That God created them all independently from each other. That life has a purpose and a plan that holds all of existence together. And God is the only true source of life be it man or beast.

God made the beasts. The word for made is 'asah'. Which again means to form in accordance to a pattern. God had a plan since eternity past. The angels all lived with God and saw the creation of the universe, then Satan's destruction of it. They witnessed the restoration of the earth and then the creation of man, a creature that was created beneath them on the life scale, but would soon be promoted over them at the end of human history. Which is, by the way, another 'end' to things.

So now the earth has been well furnished and in a non-violent way, and absent of violence. The food for the animals was not each other, but the plant life, both on the land and in the sea. Satan brings violence and ultimately carnivorous behavior to the planet later on.

The angels had their chance with God, and blew it. They interacted with God in this entire universe, and still failed. Now God is about to create a lower form of life to demonstrate that even man, a creature, bound to a single planet and inferior in so many ways to angels, can elect for God, and arise to the occasion of complete dependence on God through faith alone, with only the doctrinal disclosures in the scriptures and against horrendous odds and opposition in history.

So now the stage is set for the introduction of the creature that will bring the angelic conflict to its conclusion.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
