Gen. 2:21-25

21 And the LORD [Yahovah] God [elohiym] caused [naphal] a deep sleep [tardemah] to fall [naphal] upon Adam [Adam], and he slept [yashen]: and he took [laqach] one [echad] of his ribs [tsela], and closed up [cagar] the flesh [basar] instead thereof;
22 And the rib [tsela], which the LORD [Yahovah] God [elohiym] had taken [laqach] from man [adam], made [banah] he a woman [ishshah], and brought [bow] her unto the man [adam].
23 And Adam [adam] said [amar], This [zo'th] is now [pa`am] bone [etsem] of my bones [etsem], and flesh [basar] of my flesh [basar]: she [zo'th] shall be called [qara] Woman [ishshah], because she [zo'th] was taken [laqach] out of Man [iysh].
24 Therefore [ken] shall a man [iysh] leave [azab] his father [ab] and his mother [em], and shall cleave [dabaq] unto his wife [ishshah]: and they shall be one [echad] flesh [basar].
25 And they were both [shanayim] naked [arowm], the man [adam] and his wife [ishshah], and were not ashamed [buwsh]. KJV-Interlinear

21 So the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he slept; then He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh at that place. 22 And the LORD God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man, and brought her to the man. 23 And the man said, 'This is now bone of my bones,
And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.' 24 For this cause a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh. 25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed. NASB

I want to draw on several verses which make points, but do not jump to conclusions about where this is leading, because you will be wrong. The points first as follows:

1 Cor. 11:8-9, Man was not made out of woman, but woman was made out of man. Man was not made for woman, but woman was made for man.

1 Tim. 2:12+, Woman is said to remain quiet and submissive, for it was her who was deceived not the man.

1 Cor. 11:7, While man is the image and glory of God, the Woman is the glory of the man.

Though man was made of the common dust of the earth, so now woman was made from man and now one step further from the earth, but still of the dust of the ground.

Isa. 40:13, Man did not give counsel to God. Man did not advise God. Man had nothing to do with creation or any of God's plans for history. Man did not even exist when God created the universe. Man even slept when God made woman. Man had nothing to do with the design of woman nor her function.

So what does it all mean.

First lets start with sleep which God placed man under while God did His work. Cast all your cares on Him and He will care for you. Adam was sleeping as God worked. God placed him in a state so as to avoid pain and harm of every kind. Adam though sleeping and in a totally helpless state was well cared for by God. We are in God's care when we are in fellowship and have spiritual growth under our belt. This places us in his spiritual fortress, and there is the place of safety, security, prosperity, blessing.

God pierced Adams side. So Christ's side was pierced. As Christ slept (figurative) while under spiritual punishment for those three hours on the Cross, God though He inflicted the punishment for the sins of mankind on to Christ, protected Christ as well. From the wound later on which was pierced in Christ's side, as Adam was pierced, so the last Adam was pierced and out came blood and water. These both representative of the sacrifice which had just been completed. See Eph. 5:25. The blood which made the purchase of our lives from sin and death, and the water which represents the washing away of sin, thus purifying us for fellowship with God.

The basic component of woman came from man's side. Not from his head to rule him, not from his foot to be trampled on by man, but from his side, to be partner with.

The rib was a component which shields the heart. The removal of the rib removed some shielding of mans heart, but the reuniting of man and woman in marriage restores the shield of the heart. The true heart is the soul and the reuniting of the woman is the reuniting of the Church with Christ, and doctrine. Doctrine in the soul is the perfect protection of ones life for salvation, for eternity with God, for prosperity and happiness.

God made the woman and brought her to the man. God made the Church and brings it to Christ. We do not form ourselves nor do we bring ourselves to God. God does all the work. We do none of it. We can neither earn or deserve our position which we enjoy by God's grace.

Mans mate came from his own self. Bone of my bone. Mans mate did not come from animals, or fish, or birds, but from his own kind. The missing component which was taken from man was brought back to man in the form of marriage. God did not make man out of man, not woman out of woman, but woman out of man. Woman is the word 'ishshah', or the feminine of man, from man.

Psa. 45:10-11, Just as the man is said to leave his parents, so also the woman is to forget them as well, and return to each other and cleave, weld, reunite together, as in the picture of sex, as in the picture of doctrine being drilled deep into the soul permanently.

So also we must leave the sinful way of life since it is now dead as a result of Christ's work on the Cross, and reunite ourselves in doctrine with God. First by salvation by means of faith in Christ and then by spiritual growth in the fellowship and under the control of the Holy Spirit.

And so they were both naked. With no knowledge of sin and evil, with a relationship with God, without blemish and perfect. Totally defenseless on their own, but totally safe in the protection of God.

So now God had created and established the first three divine principles of life.

The Sabbath, rest in God's work. Spiritual maturity and possession of God's wisdom.

Second, volition. The right to decide and make decisions whether right or wrong. Each mans free will right to be his own boss, not to be ruled over by others, but to have the right to make his right choices or to fail on his own.

Third, marriage. For the demonstration of the reuniting of the two components of mankind to bond them back together as one complete unit. Man and doctrine. Gods image, Jesus Christ and Gods glory. And mans glory, woman and the church reunited to Christ through doctrine. First in salvation and next through spiritual growth.

These are all pictures of Gods creation and purpose for man. In all that we do God has left us daily reminders of Himself and His purpose and plan. Man was separated from God as woman was separated from man. But both are reunited in doctrine, in marriage and in spiritual growth.

No one has an excuse in life for their wrong decisions. No matter who they are. No matter where they are. No matter when they lived. Everything in life points to a God, a designer of creation, therefore the curious should seek knowledge of this highest authority and a relationship with Him.

We all should recognize our incompleteness, our deficiencies, our inadequacies, our frailties, our weaknesses, and so forth, and seek the truthful solutions found in Bible doctrine.

Adam and Eve were not ashamed in the beginning. They had yet to make their first choices. But time would take its toll as Eve would not pay attention and her mind would stray making her vulnerable.

Satan recognized this and launched his attack, against mankind, on the woman first, the weak link. Does this make woman the weaker sex. No.
The weak link is anyone who does not have doctrine in their soul, therefore they cannot make good decisions in life. They lack information and therefore make mistakes.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson
