Genesis 6:8-10

Lesson # Genesis 6:8-10
Study Material - Genesis 6:8-10

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Gen. 6:8-10

8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. 9 These are the records of the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his time; Noah walked with God. 10 And Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

All the world is wicked, full of people of notoriety in the eyes of the masses, but their fame was based on sinful activities and motivations. We do not have the names of the famous wicked types. They presumably held Noah in contempt for his thoughts, which they could not see, but also for his words and actions. Noah carried the warning to the masses even as he constructed the ark. Noah did not do his project in secret. Noah did not fear the masses for what they could probably threaten him with, be it words or violence.

On the other hand we do have Noah's name and history. Though people held him in contempt, God did not. People rejected his words and actions, but God held Noah in high regard because of the content of his soul. People when keeping with their own devices make the wrong choices though they search for a profitable result to their own plans. Noah, sought Gods guidance and obtained a profitable result for his life, which certainly includes Gods high regard as well as many other blessings.

Heb. 11:7 gives us a clear understanding of Noah's source for his courage and decisions, and that source was faith. As goes everyone in history in faith, so goes the positive and spiritually advancing believer. The content of your soul is the most important aspect of your life. It either makes you or it breaks you. True courage comes from doctrine in the soul. Noah had true courage in the face of overwhelming odds

The world had its good times, its cities built by the sweat of others, its sinful pleasures as well as its degenerate satisfactions. In this kind of world everyone does not win. Only the few who have the power, enjoy the benefits. And they enjoy at the expense of the many. This was not a world in the middle of a full blown party where everyone was having a good time, but the majority were most probably in a slave category. There would be murder and rape just to name a couple of violent crimes. Fairness was not in the vocabulary, but take all you can was the attitude.

Noah was the exception. He was said to be righteous. We are all righteous, who believe in Christ. God makes us righteous with respect to sin and death because Christ paid the price on the Cross for us. We cannot make ourselves righteous. Noah was blameless. He operated in fellowship with God during the majority of his life. We are all commanded to be in fellowship with God, and we should know by now that this is a simple procedure of confession of our sins direct to God the Father, and no one else, in our fellowship prayer, which we should do regularly in order to stay in fellowship. Fellowship is not some mystical, or emotional, or exotic event that we suddenly become possessed with.

Noah walked with God. Noah was a mature believer. His soul had a lot of doctrine in it. He thought doctrine, he applied doctrine to his life. He ignored the enticements of the world, the temptations of that which he could see, smell, taste, and so forth. He looked to God through faith and to the promises of eternity. Things which he could not see, taste, smell, etc., except through faith.

And Noah had three sons, Shem named first because he is the line of Christ, though all three sons were believers. Next came Ham, the darker skinned son, and then Japheth. In these three sons will the world be repopulated again. Beginning with believers only, once again, the world gets a new beginning. We cannot blame any one color for our difficulties, or even our successes, because all of the sons will fail. The offspring of all three will see failure. The offspring of all three will see successes. The offspring of all three will intermarry and there will not be a pure line from Noah, and this intermarriage activity will occur very early following Noah. So this eliminates any possibilities of superior races, because all three are in us all, at least genetically.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
