Genesis 6:13

Lesson # Genesis 6:13
Study Material - Genesis 6:13

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Gen. 6:13

13 Then God said to Noah, 'The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth.

God does nothing unless he first reveals what he is going to do, Amos 3:7. Also, Psa. 25:14, God reveals to those he loves, believers and especially believers with understanding, that is believers with spiritual growth and the ability to understand, God reveals His plans. God did not hide anything from Abraham concerning Sodom, Gen. 18:17.

So now God speaks to Noah. God holds counsel with Noah. God does not owe us anything, in fact we owe all that we are in our existence, to God, but God is courteous and reveals to us His plans for our individual lives as well as makes things clear in the history of the world. This He does through doctrine. If you know and understand doctrine, if you have been faithful in your daily study, if you have complied with the only method of learning doctrine which God has set out for us, then you will have some understanding of the how's and why's of this world. No you won't know the lottery numbers ahead of time, but you will be able to discern the ills of society. You will know that society is superficial and how to market yourself for sales or a job, etc. You will know when to take risks and when not to. You will know that you never gamble with your home or your basic resources. You will know how to be conservative and how to get changes through legal process and not to go out destroying through radical crusades to force change.

Noah could have gone on a 'march'. He could have carried a sign. He could have put a white sheet over his head and rode off carrying a torch, threatening those who were bad according to his standards. But Noah did none of these things. He listened to God.

God explains His policy. Bad is punished, good is blessed. God decides what is bad and what is good. The world has met the definition of bad many times over. Starting with the content of the soul and following through with the actions of the people. Corruption, attitude, sin, crime, evil of all kinds exists. We do not have any good examples in our current time that I can think of. Sure we have inner city problems, occasional mass murder cases, and historically where countries have gone on genocide crusades, but in the time of Noah, the whole world was rotten and to the core. If you could smell evil, then the stench would probably gag you.

God makes it clear that He is about to destroy all that lives. Fair warning is given. Note that God talks with Noah. Only positive believers will listen to God. Others will not listen. Though God makes His warning clear to the whole world, He is rejected. Arrogance fails to see the truth. Arrogance prefers to drive off the cliff rather than slow down and turn onto the right road. Arrogance says that my way is better than Gods way even though I created nothing and God created everything. But arrogance is blind to its own pseudo wisdom.

God gives us information and the sense of clearly discerning truth from the propaganda of this world. Thus we are able to build up our defenses for the trouble that looms on the horizon. If you know it is there, that it is coming, then you can prepare. If you walk through life ignoring the signs of trouble, then you will get hurt. Prepare and be ready and you'll survive. Ignore and do not get ready and you will drown.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
