Genesis 8:21-22

Lesson # Genesis 8:21-22
Study Material - Genesis 8:21-22

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Gen. 8:21-22

21 And the LORD smelled the soothing aroma; and the LORD said to Himself, 'I will never again curse the ground on account of man, for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth; and I will never again destroy every living thing, as I have done. 22 'While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, And cold and heat, And summer and winter, And day and night Shall not cease.'

Noah was not commanded to make the sacrifices, but did them from his own free will. A mature believer has his priorities on straight and doesn't try to rationalize or fool God by faking a charitable heart.

God smells the aroma of the sacrifice, which is your worship of Him, which comes from your study of doctrine and your prayers of thanks, but also it comes from your charitable giving to whatever source you determine. You cannot buy Gods blessing, nor bribe Him. Giving does not make you spiritual nor gain you favor with God, but giving from the honest desire to assist whomever you are giving to, and without strings attached, is an application of your true spiritual growth and capacity to recognize God is the source of everything you have. That God will replace whatever you give up, so you are not really losing anything.

You never place your own family in jeopardy in your giving. You always take care of your own family first. Your giving comes from the excess God has given to you. Noah recognized the meaning of the seventh animal and gave it back to God. The sweet savor means resting savor, or the savor of rest. God made restored the world and rested on the seventh day, He restores the world again and Noah demonstrates his understanding of faith in God and the rest received by the sacrifices made.

God promises to never again curse the ground. That is He will add nothing more to the curse already in place. Earlier on, God cursed the ground, He inundated the earth with water, and now there is nothing more to add to the curse as long as the earth exists. And that is until time expires. Then there will be a removal of heaven and earth and a new heaven and earth created in its place.

Mans heart is evil from birth. Mankind is born with the sin nature in his genetics. By one man, Adam, all have sinned. We are born spiritually dead and from our youth, from our birth we are evil beings. At some point we grow up physically and become accountable for our thoughts and actions and then God holds us accountable for our attitude towards him.

God has made more diversification in the world after the flood than before it. Never again will there be a world wide destruction of life. So no atomic war will wipe out mankind, no asteroids will end all existence of life. Life will go on through the remainder of the dispensations and until the end of the millennium. Spring and fall, summer and winter, planting time and harvest will all continue on a consistent basis year after year. Night will follow day and so on. God is consistent and God is faithful. What people need to worry about is their own individual conduct and attitude toward God, not some world wide catastrophe.

While the earth remains and since the flood times and seasons have changed. Where as they did not exist prior to the flood, now they will exist as a sign of Gods faithfulness. Later we will see the sign of Gods faithfulness, which is the rainbow, yet another thing that did not exist prior to the flood, but exists now.

Life will go on here in this world. This is not a guarantee of your success in anything, only Bible doctrine comes with a guarantee.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
