Habakkuk 1:11-13

Lesson # Habakkuk 1:11-13
Study Material - Habakkuk 1:11-13

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Habakkuk 1:11-13

11 Then shall his mind [ruwach] change [chalaph] , and he shall pass over [abar] , and offend ['asham] , imputing this [zuw] his power [koach] unto his god ['elowahh] .
12 Art thou not from everlasting [qedem] , O LORD [Yahovah] my God [elohiym] , mine Holy One [qadowsh] ? we shall not die [muwth] . O LORD [Yahovah] , thou hast ordained [suwm] them for judgment [mishpat] ; and, O mighty God [tsuwr] , thou hast established [yacad] them for correction [yakach] .
13 Thou art of purer [tahowr] eyes [ayin] than to behold [ra'ah] evil [ra] , and canst [yakol] not look [nabat] on iniquity [amal] : wherefore lookest [nabat] thou upon them that deal treacherously [bagad] , and holdest thy tongue [charash] when the wicked [rasha] devoureth [bala] the man that is more righteous [tsaddiyq] than he? KJV-Interlinear

11 'Then they will sweep through like the wind and pass on. But they will be held guilty, They whose strength is their god.' 12 Art Thou not from everlasting, O LORD, my God, my Holy One? We will not die. Thou, O LORD, hast appointed them to judge; And Thou, O Rock, hast established them to correct. 13 Thine eyes are too pure to approve evil, And Thou canst not look on wickedness with favor. Why dost Thou look with favor On those who deal treacherously? Why art Thou silent when the wicked swallow up Those more righteous than they? NASB

The Chaldeans will sweep through the nations and there will be no one to stop them. Why? Because the nations have turned their trust over to the jungle, and they will have to respect the rules that are in effect in the jungle.

God is a gentleman. He allows people to function freely in their volition and make even the dumbest of decisions for their own lives. If someone wants to live in the jungle, then so be it. A person might think that he or she is above the functions of the jungle, and that too is their right - to believe that they can live with or even outwit the jungle. Though in reality no one can win that battle.

In the jungle there is always a predator who is more agile, more youthful, even smarter than you. You might be on top of your game for a while, but sooner or later something will come along and catch you off guard. Even if it is old age when you tend to slow down, aren't quite as sharp and so forth. Being human is a handicap in the first place, but to imagine that you can get along by making up your own rules, is total absurdity.

The Chaldeans look to their own devices. They are powerful and aggressive and arrogant. A combination for tyranny, abuse, and destruction for others and eventually themselves. However, their only prey exists within the jungle. And this is an important principle of doctrine. Jungle predators and jungle rules apply only to the jungle itself and to those who live within its boundaries.

If you choose to live your life within the jungle, then expect to be treated in accordance with its rules.

Where else can you live? In fellowship. This is verse 12 in or passage. We will not die. Who are we? Believers in the only savior, the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

God may allow us to be disciplined from time to time. God may allows the problems of the world to overflow into our lives, but anyone who is positive toward God, and is advancing in their spiritual life, will be given special attention by God, and will be spared one way or another. And even if the positive believer dies, then heaven is their destiny and that is a promotion, never a loss.

Often times, however, the believers who suffer the most are those who are negative and they will endure suffering until they either change their ways or leave this world kicking and screaming all the way. A total embarrassment to everyone around them. They may be promoted to heaven, but what they do lose, is the opportunity to advance in their spiritual life, and the opportunity for those extra blessings that are available in heaven for mature believers.

We look around in our life and see gangs, and bad people engaged in crime. We see bad politicians, United Nations scandals, and trouble of one sort or another in the world or even in our own home towns, but there is a higher conflict in this universe and that is the angelic conflict.

Satan would just as soon see all of mankind destroyed so he can have his way. But God has positive believers on this earth and God is bound to protect them. Every generation since Adam and Eve has had positive believers, and God protects them and perpetuates them.

There will never be a generation without positive believers living on the face of this earth. Try as they may, Satan, and evil people will never have their way for a very long time. Actually they only rise up when the numbers of positive believers diminishes.

History gives many examples of this. As spiritual values decline, then the liberals and appeasers in history increase. There are always evil types in the world and when they encounter people who will not oppose them, then they see this as a weakness and a free ticket to do as they please.

The Israelites grew weak and lax in their defenses. They had no military to speak of. They in effect left the doors wide open for their own destruction.

So the big question being asked is, verse 13, 'How can a loving God allow all this to happen?' 'How can You, Oh God, allow a group (the Chaldeans) more wicked than your negative people (the Israelites who have gone negative), come along and destroy your people.

And that answer is simply this. God did not make His people go negative, they did it themselves. They turned away from the protection of Gods spiritual environment, and turned to and even embraced the environment of the jungle. God simply allowed them to do as they choose.

Often times a person has to get his fingers burned, before he begins to respect the fire. And those who totally ignore the power and danger of the fire, get totally consumed by it.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
