Habakkuk 3:18-19

Lesson # Habakkuk 3:18-19
Study Material - Habakkuk 3:18-19

You must be in fellowship prior to your Bible study, so that the spiritual information you receive can become a source, of blessing to your soul and produce spiritual growth.

Habakkuk 3:18-19

18 Yet I will rejoice [alaz] in the LORD [Yahovah] , I will joy [giyl] in the God [elohiym] of my salvation [yesha] .
19 The LORD [Yahovih] God [Adonay] is my strength [chayil] , and he will make [suwm] my feet [regel] like hinds [ayalah] feet, and he will make me to walk [darak] upon mine high places [bamah] . To the chief singer [natsach] on my stringed instruments [nagiynah] . KJV-Interlinear

18 Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places. For the choir director, on my stringed instruments. NASB

Habakkuk's complaining early in the book, was replaced by the music of hope and happiness. Destruction, violence, strife, conflict, injustice, and wickedness were all that he could see. Habakkuk was frustrated that so much anti-God sentiment went unchecked, and that God seemed to be doing nothing about it.

But God responded and made it very clear that not only was He doing something about the negative spiritual attitude of the population of Judah, but the consequences of the thoughts and actions of the people, had been prepared for a long time ago.

Evil never goes unchecked for long.

Why is it not corrected immediately? Because life is a serious matter. People are given the free will to decide for themselves. Whether right or wrong, people are allowed to make up their own minds. And their decisions are allowed to run their course in this world. People are given all the information necessary to know and understand that any anti-God stand will only end up in disaster. This takes time to develop in any given person's life.

Habakkuk saw the bad attitudes. He saw the trouble on the horizon. God instructed Him to write the song of disaster, so that all would know that their present course would lead to an invasion and their total defeat by the foreigner to the north.

Habakkuk did not state that he would simply endure the hardship when it came, but he would celebrate in Gods better wisdom.

Life is a serious matter. What stands in the wings of ones life is ones destiny. We are not born into this world to remain here forever. We all die sooner or later. Look at the many cemeteries that exist in the world. Look at the current disasters in the news, and especially the horrible mess that is unfolding over in Indonesia and the surrounding countries.

We have our limits, and our personal death is the final limit we will all face. What then?

Heaven or hell are the only two choices. There is no second chance in this life. No reincarnation. Once gone, then always gone from this life as you once knew it.

Happiness cannot be attached to life or ones circumstances in life. Too many problems can come up and bite you, and then where is your happiness. Those who rely on circumstances are disillusioned sooner or later.

The only true source of happiness comes from knowledge in the scriptures and from a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. Which relationship comes only from advancing to spiritual maturity.

There is only one truth in life, and that is, if you do not have a relationship with Christ then your life will be a miserable failure. And if you do pursue and persist in attaining a personal relationship with Christ through your daily Bible study, then your life will be fulfilled beyond your imagination.

The hind feet are the feet of the deer, who bounds through the forest in the dark of night. The hind legs can leap obstacles with strength and agility, and are sure footed. That is what doctrine gives you to help you through this life. The world is a dark forest, a jungle into which you could sink in its quicksand if you did not have the resources (Bible doctrine) with which to cope.

The walk on high places is the higher plane of wisdom which Gods Word gives the positive, learning, growing believer. The world will muck around in its fantasies of what it calls wisdom, but the mature believer sees through the fog and knows the truth from the lie.

Often times we have something of great value within our grasp and we take it for granted. One day if we lose it, then we grieve because we did not appreciate its value. Hope and pray that God will never take His word away from you, and that He will not turn His back on you because you did not heed His counsel, because you did not take His Word seriously.

The great danger to a people living within the relative comfort of a free society, is complacency, or allowing doctrine to become ho hum. Look at world events and be thankful that the devastation is occurring somewhere else. But too realize that if God diminishes in anyone's heart, then trouble will come knocking, and trouble could very well be overwhelmingly earth shattering.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
