Haggai 2:6-8

6 For thus saith [amar] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba]; Yet once [echad], it is a little while [ma`at], and I will shake [ra`ash] the heavens [shamayim], and the earth [erets], and the sea [yam], and the dry [charabah] land;
7 And I will shake [ra`ash] all nations [gowy], and the desire [chemdah] of all nations [gowy] shall come [bow]: and I will fill [male] this house [bayith] with glory [kabowd], saith [amar] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba].
8 The silver [keceph] is mine, and the gold [zahab] is mine, saith [na'um] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba]. KJV-Interlinear

6 'For thus says the LORD of hosts, 'Once more in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea also and the dry land. 7 'And I will shake all the nations; and they will come with the wealth of all nations; and I will fill this house with glory,' says the LORD of hosts. 8 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' declares the LORD of hosts. NASB

Here 'once' implies one single act of God. This is not a reference to a second act, because God over the centuries has acted to shake the nations and the earth, many times. The last great act was in Noah's time, but Noah is not referred to in Haggai's book. All of his references have been to the Exodus generation and the glory of the Temple of Solomon's time.

So, there is but one judgment of the nations and that judgment will occur at the end of the Tribulation, at the Second Advent. On that future occasion all of the nations will be destroyed and their wealth will be there for the taking.

Since the nations will not exist, then there will be no resistance to contributing all of their wealth to the future reign of Christ. Survivors of the Tribulation (mature believers) will gather all that they can, and freely give to the new Millennial Temple.

What they do and give will pale when compared to the vast magnitude of the new Temple of the Millennium, Eze. 40-41. And that will pale to the Temple in the new Jerusalem of the new universe, Rev. 21. The new universe will come at the end of the Millennium and after all of the final judgments.

'In a little while,' is Gods time table of the always impending or imminent action of an event. We know that these events (the Tribulation) have not yet taken place, but we do not know when they will take place.

In Gods time table as revealed in the Bible, we are currently in the Church Age. That is what we call our own dispensation. We do not know how long our age will last, but thus far our dispensation has been the longest lasting dispensation - nearly 2000 years so far (1975 yrs. = 2005 AD - 30 AD). See the chart on dispensations. Our Church Age will end when the Rapture occurs. That date is unknown and could happen at anytime in the near or distant future.

Recall our study in Rev. 1 of Christ's mighty arm holding onto and flexed ready, to throw the historical lever into the next phase.

God is always ready to move His plan forward without any notice to anyone. No notice is necessary. Even if He did tell us what was going to happen and when (Daniel's prophecy of the dates surrounding the First Advent), it would go mostly unnoticed and ignored.

We have the entire realm of doctrine in the Bible right now and most folks ignore it. And your spiritual life is far more important than any future historical event.

When the Second Advent does occur, and it will, then all the world will be shaken to its foundation, and all the nations will cease to exist. Only one group, mature believers, from all over the world will survive into the Millennium.

All of the wealth that nations have accumulated, and that really is the sum total of what people have accumulated for themselves, and see as one of many objectives they have in this life, all of this wealth really belongs to God. Mankind is only here courtesy of Gods grace. We are nothing more than renters with no ownership rights whatsoever.

They only thing that man can own is his spiritual life, and that too comes from God in total, but is given freely to us for our own possession. Our spiritual life far outweighs all of the wealth that exists in this world.

God, through Haggai, assures the listeners that although Solomon's Temple was tremendously beautiful and glorious, and that this current Temple was in a state of shambles and would not, nor never, come close to the glory days of Solomon, there will be a time in the future that Gods glory will fill not only the Temple of the future, but will fill up the entire universe as never before.

We can all look to our current situation. Some of us might have pretty good lives, but many folks have issues in their lives. For some it is marital problems, for some it is monthly bills, for some it is medical problems, and for everyone there is something in life that makes life a burden.

Never fear however. Regardless of your circumstances of life, if you concentrate on your spiritual growth, then your life now will be better, and your life in eternity will be beyond everything that you can imagine.

This is the devils world and with it comes grief. Expect it. We receive grief from four sources - self, people, bureaucracy, and natural events or circumstances. Once you begin to understand this, then your life will be much easier to cope with.

So concentrate on your spiritual life, because God will call you home one of these days, and likewise God will shift history into another gear sooner or later. Your best investment is your own temple within your soul.

Matt. 24:29-31
29 'But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken, 30 and then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 'And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other. NASB

Joel 3:16
16 And the LORD roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth tremble. NASB

Luke 4:18-21
18 'The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are downtrodden, 19 To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.' 20 And He closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed upon Him. 21 And He began to say to them, 'Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.' NASB

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
