Haggai 2:9

9 The glory [kabowd] of this latter [acharown] house [bayith] shall be greater than [gadowl] of the former [ri'shown], saith [na'um] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba]: and in this place [maqowm] will I give [nathan] peace [shalowm], saith [amar] the LORD [Yahovah] of hosts [tsaba]. KJV-Interlinear

9 'The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts,' and in this place I shall give peace,' declares the LORD of hosts.' NASB

The wealth of Solomon is detailed in 1 Kg. 10. He has been and always will be the richest person in the entire history of mankind. Even todays billionaires pale in wealth when compared to the riches of Solomon. By the way, Solomon means 'peaceful.'

His riches came from across the world, such that silver was as common as the stones in the street. The entire nation was wealthy beyond belief due to the wealth of Solomon. No billionaire today can make that claim.

The nation was prosperous. It was not a welfare state as some of those oil rich countries in the Middle East are today. Israel's population was a working population.

Solomon's gold income alone came to well over a billion dollars in annual income. That is every year. And that is just the tip of his revenue mountain. His wealth was so vast that he was richer than all of the kings of the world combined. If his assets were valued today, then his net worth would be in the trillions of dollars. No one in history will ever match him in annual income nor accumulated wealth.

Anyone with his kind of wealth and Bible doctrine in their soul, would certainly have a peaceful life, as Solomon's name implies.

And yet despite the vast wealth of the nation of Israel in Solomon's day, it will fall far short of the wealth of the future Temple and nation of God.

The Millennium will be the wealthiest and most prosperous time in all of human history. For one thousand years, Christ will rule the planet, populated still by humanity made of flesh and blood. These people are survivors of the Tribulation and they will not yet be in their resurrection bodies. They will simply be normal human beings, but with considerably longer life spans, and certainly far greater income and prosperity than any generation in all of history.

That prosperity will last the entire one thousand year period. No inflation, no famine, no welfare, no unemployment, no recession, no economic negatives whatsoever.

And again, despite the tremendous wealth of the Millennium, that will pale to the wealth and prosperity of eternity. For that, we have only our imaginations, and God tells us that our imaginations cannot even begin to comprehend the blessings of eternity.

The levels of peace, inner peace, security, comfort, and contentment, and happiness are so immense, we cannot even begin to comprehend them. Yet they are all ours, all belonging to believers in Jesus Christ.

Our primary objective in this life is not to make a permanent home out of this life in this world, but to prepare ourselves for an even greater life in eternity. Eternity will of course last a lot longer than this physical and temporal life here on earth.

To ignore the blessings of eternity and instead concentrating on the temporary things of this life is the same as throwing away a productive gold mine in exchange for an unproductive and worthless pit of mud. No one in their right mind would make such a swap.

No matter what your situation is, your future will only get better if you persevere in your spiritual advance to spiritual maturity.

Now is the time to post a prayer.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
