Isaiah 1:26

http://www.dailybiblestudy.org

26 And I will restore [shuwb] thy judges [shaphat] as at the first, [ri'shown] and thy counsellors [ya`ats] as at the beginning: [tachillah] afterward ['achar] thou shalt be called, [qara'] The city [`iyr] of righteousness, [tsedeq] the faithful ['aman] city. [qiryah] KJV-Interlinear

26 "Then I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning; After that you will be called the city of righteousness, A faithful city." NASB

Throughout human history, all human leadership, all human advisors, all human authorities and so forth, will be of varying degrees of selfishness, deception, corruption, and so forth.

In some generations the failure of human authority will be greater than in other generations. But suffice to say, there will never be a generation that is completely honest or fair.

Even in the beginning, as stated here, when the nation of Israel began with Moses and Joshua, there was still a faction of dissention among the Israelites. But their leadership was among the best of their history.

It will not be until the Second advent, when the Kingdom of God is established, and when the Old Testament believers will receive their resurrection bodies, and will be on hand to assume their roles of leadership, judges and so forth, will the nation then have its best government ever.

It will take God, to restore the honesty and integrity of government, as humanity in all of its ingenuity, will never be able to create the perfect government.

History saw the decline in leadership in Isaiah's day, and history has seen the decline in government and even the creation of many government forms throughout the ages.

Even our present form of government, a republic as we are called, which is one of the best forms of government in history, with our constitution and separation of government branches format, there is still the struggle over how to interpret and perform the duties of government.

No earthly government can rise above the sin nature of humanity and be better than the weakest link of the human character.

It will not be until the Second Advent that any semblance of leadership with integrity, will occur.

However, here God promises that, that change will occur, and as such, the city of Jerusalem, will once again reflect the purpose of its name, the City of Peace. Peace means the maturity and stability of doctrine resident in the souls of all of its inhabitants.

Righteousness meaning the city, leadership, that has no ulterior motive or agenda, and faithful meaning the city that is founded on doctrine, truth.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
