2 And the Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. NASB For this study you should have a printed copy of the 'Seven Spirits' study chart. That is available in the online bible study library. The 'seven spirits' is the sum total of the mechanics and framework of the spiritual life. It is the sphere in which Gods word functions in our life as well as in all of the universe. If you ever wanted to know the secret of life, then here, it is found in the secret of the seven spirits. These same seven spirits rested upon the incarnate Jesus and by them he functioned in the world, and these same seven spirits can rest upon you and make up your entire spiritual life. Jesus Christ is God. Lets be very clear on that. He is one member of the Godhead of three persons (Father, Son, and Spirit). They are all co-equal and co-infinite. They all have the same identical essence - righteousness, justice, immutability, sovereignty, omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotent, veracity, love, eternal life. They all adhere to the same selected Plan of God - the Divine Decrees. No one or two of them is on a different agenda or in competition with the others. Religions, mythology, various beliefs the world over and throughout history have made up bastardized copies of Gods plan and order and participants. These alternate views are designed to dilute and confuse mankind's access and understanding to the truth in life, and therefore prevent man from having a legitimate access to the one true God. This whole false set of views or lies, is the work of Satan who wishes to defeat God in the angelic conflict and thus elevate himself to a position in the universe which is higher than God. Consequently Satan depends on lies and harm to people as well as his fellow angels, in order to advance himself in his own selfish lust to power. He ultimately cares nothing for anyone and gladly sacrifices everyone in order to get what he wants. Such is the nature of evil and all wickedness. God, in His infinite wisdom comes along and creates mankind, a creature who is lower than the angels, limited in our physical and mental abilities, restricted to this planet as it were, and God invents a method for mankind to be more powerful than all of Satan's abilities. This is called the spiritual life and it is freely available to anyone and to everyone who opens up their mind and wants it for them self. Jesus Christ who is God and all powerful and who holds the universe together and controls every aspect of history, demonstrated this power (seven spirits) in His First Advent, when He entered into the world as a helpless infant, and throughout His entire earthly life of some 33 ½ years, looked to and depended on this plan of the seven spirits through the entirety of His life even through the events of the Cross until His own physical death. That physical death which by the way came only after His work on the Cross had been completed. And then, Jesus was confident and in complete subordination to Gods (the Father's) plan, setting aside His (Jesus') own divine powers and abilities, and continued to wait and depend on Gods plan to bring Him back to life in the first and thus far only, resurrection of history. This same power is available to each and every one of you. It is your ticket to life, and your secret fortress and shield and defense against the worlds attack and attempts to distract and therefore destroy your life. You have but only to want to learn and then want to use Gods plan in your life, and then you will have the greatest life and adventure in this world, and an even greater life and adventure in eternity, so great that it far exceeds your ability to even imagine the possibilities. Those who turn down this free opportunity are the fools of life. Those who ignore this opportunity are the fools of life. Those who imagine that they can come up with something better are the fools of life. Those who don't think that they need it are the fools of life. Those who seize this chance for themselves, are the wisest of all peoples in all of history. Which are you?
