Isaiah 19:9

9 Moreover they that work [`abad] in fine [sariyqah] flax [pishteh], and they that weave ['arag] networks [chowr], shall be confounded [buwsh].  KJV-Interlinear

9 Moreover, the manufacturers of linen made from combed flax And the weavers of white cloth will be utterly dejected.  NASB

The flowing waters of the Nile are seen as the lifeline and sustaining provision from Jesus Christ, who is God. But since God has been rejected, then the provisions are likewise withheld. The Nile dries up and the dominos of commerce fall in turn, drying up.

Agriculture has dried up into nothing. Fishing has dried up into nothing.

And now, other industries begin to fall, one after the other, in a dying economy.

Here the dying businesses are described and those that use labor and those who manufacture the finer things for life.

Weaving networks, ‘arag chowr,’ refer to fine things, better articles, that which is made for a higher quality of life.

And the word for confounded, ‘buwsh,’ means ashamed, unemployed, not knowing what to do next.

Having worked for so long and having been established in their jobs and lifestyle, the people of that future and final generation, will not know how to handle unemployment. They will be ashamed and embarrassed and will be at a loss as to what they should or can do next.

Remember that these prophecies apply to the final generation of history, to which we refer as the Tribulation. Those seven final years of history, immediately prior to the Second Advent of Christ.

This chapter happens to be against Egypt, detailing the difficulties that the people there will be having, as they get worse and worse. And they being a neighbor of Israel, the home and source of the very one they have rejected and even though they are next door, so to speak, they still do not recognize the error of their ways and the reasons for their troubles. Namely their own indifference toward God, Christ, doctrine, truth and their spiritual lives, of which they have none, because they reject all truth.

Reject God. Reject Christ. Reject your obligation to advance by means of s daily study, and life will go sour on you. Unless of course you are smart enough to see what you need to do, namely advancing in your spiritual life by means of a daily study.

End Of Lesson

Study to show thyself approved (mature) unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing (studying/discerning), the Word of truth.
